• Anyone think they should add a music player to steam?

Been bugging me for days now, I love the new steam ingame UI and I really love the web browser and everything, I just would also love to have a music player, so I can pick a song i'm in the mood for rather than either Alt+Tab'ing or having a playlist on, maybe a Itunes kind of widget, this might already be available, but as far as I can see from searching google, it isn't. Anyone else agree on this?
You can use Subsonic from the web browser. That's what I've been doing. http://subsonicproject.com/
I prefer just having a separate window open for music. If they started working on implementing a music device, I'm afraid they would get too caught up in trying to be the next iTunes rather than focusing on games, which they're great at.

Xfire does this. It's the only reason I even use it But it would be nice to see Steam have this as well, so I don't have to use both
I think theres somthing called Ajaxamp for winamp you can use from browser its nice
Awesome, yeah, it would be like itunes built in, would make everything easier and its nice to have everything all in one :)
Don't you have the keys to control your playlist on your keyboard? I always use those.
You know what I love about No Heroes TF2 servers? The fact that they have an integrated radio station player with tons of radios to choose from. Also no, I don't think they should add a music player to Steam. What's so hard about muting your game and making a playlist in your media player?

No, use iTunes and http://andy.hillhome.org/blog/code/ituneskeys/
Yeah I think they should. Also, if you use -noborder -window mode on source games, it makes alt-tabbing instant, so you can use media player much easier.
It needs a way of developing apps for it, it would nice to have msn intergration, a music player or control or even a little notepad app
Closest they have at the moment is a Steam skin for Winamp (That looks very nice)
They need a winamp interface for the ingame overlay

I want iTunes library integration.
Just use web interface or global hotkeys. Jeez.
I'm pretty sure you can use Steam media player to listen music, or view videos. http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Media_Player

no
I'd pay for an in game music player in the shift tab function!
Winamp + global hotkeys works well. Only a few games like The Saboteur and Metro 2033 for some reason disable the global hotkeys but alt tabbing with those is easy.
I remember Steam having an integrated music player you could use back in 2004-2005, before the whole community update thing.

If you could have a spotify window in the steam overlay I would be happy forever.
Use foobar, you can have global hotkeys for controlling the music. You can use FLACs too.
Xfire has itunes integration. Too bad xfire doesn't work with most dx10 games.
You could always run it in windowed, with 50px less on the height scale for the bar at the bottom.
