From what i know gametesting is playing a level/area/mission over and over and OVER again looking for bugs and glitches, not actually playing it.
Imagine playtesting a GTA game. You have to check EVERY BLOCK of land for glitches and bugs. EVERY CAR. EVERY COMBINATION OF CLOTHING paired with EVERY ACTION YOU CAN DO.

This. It's not running around having fun with a finished product, it's arduously retesting the same shit over and over for the smallest of errors. That's before all the polish and niceities like non-dev textures.

Game testing: Spend 3 hours playing super extreme Barbie playhouse and walk into all the walls, models and props, don't do anything but useless crap nobody would think of doing, right a report and tell us all collision bugs in excruciating detail.
