Had anyone else noticed that when Gman tell Alyx to give a message to Eli, when he pronunce the word "father", he does it with difficulty(more than his normally difficulty to speak) as if he dislike that word.
Gman is uncomfortable with every aspect of the human speech, not only the word "father"
More like he doesn't understand the concept, which supports the theory that he is not of this world.
It's just the way he speaks to give it a more dramatic effect. And of course the above to theories could apply as well.
Thats like saying everything and everyone is the same where Gmaan comes from becasue he can't say difference

I think there's a possibility that one of the advisors (advisors? Microsoft Works isn't telling me anything) is using him as a host body? Dr. Breen mentions something about host bodies at the end of HL2.
I think his father died in a tragic car accident and was afraid to say it. He was bursting out in tears and that's why you barely saw him.
It's because he got his girlfriend knocked up and he's afraid of being a daddy.
Gman has trouble speaking our language, because he is an alien (according to the hl2 guide)
