CASTLEVANIA Symphony of the Night " is it hard as "The Dracula X Chronicles ?

I am new to CASTLEVANIA but TDXC is hard as fuck for me I can't get past level 4-5 (donno which) and before I buy this on PSN (c SoTn) I want to make sure it's not hard as fuck
SOTN is kind of hard if you're not sure where you're supposed to go, or what you're supposed to do.
I found SOTN to be easy. It was kind of a let-down really.
The game is awesome though.
If I remember correctly - it's been a while - Dracula X Chronicles is the one with Richter Belmont in, and is the prequel to Symphony of the Night.
In which case, Symphony is not as hard as DXC, but is likely to have a fair level of difficulty on your first run, due to the mechanics being switched up from Castlevania to more Metroid-esque stylings.
On a second or third run, even with a level one Alucard, you should be able to just use spells to out-do all the beginning bosses, and then fuck everything up with the Crissaegrim later in the game, making the last bosses a joke.
So in short: It's easy compared to Dracula X Chronicles

Pretty much this. And some places can be just really hard, but there's always a way around it. Like turning into a bat and skipping every enemy in the room
To sum it up - Rondo of Blood / Dracula X Chronicles (DXC is a remake of Rondo of Blood) isn't the hardest in the serious but it's old-school hard otherwise. Symphony of the Night pulls what I call "RPG Guide Syndrome" that the others describe above - hard if you don't know what you're doing, easy if you do.
Also, don't buy Symphony of the Night from Playstation Network unless you want the pure form of the original game. If you want to play it without spending your money, Dracula X Chronicles has the entire SOTN as an unlockable (although it has different voiceovers and a retranslated (and thus no "DIE MONSTER" or "WHAT IS A MAN") script), along with the original Rondo of Blood that DXC is a remake of.
