Any news on Stargate Worlds? - Games

Does anyone have any information about Stargate Worlds? I've checked the wiki but I was unsatisfied.

I havnt heard alot. Theres not even a release date, started hearing stuff years ago about it.

It's been abandoned. The company making SGW shut down, they ran out of money and split up. In fact I read all their funding went in to Stargate resistance instead of SGW. So basically the whole thing was a toss up, someone can come and buy the rights for the game but other then that nothing is going to happen in till then. Just to throw out how much money they had. It was around the 65 million mark,

I thought that FPS game uh, Resistance I believe, was the fetus of SGW. I would love to see a "Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies" game done in the Stargate Universe. Plus if they did space gameplay correctly, everyone would flock to it. From the gameplay I've seen (which is according to Wargames 2, believe it or not, it made a cameo) it looked like utter shit. Sure, I liked how the third person shooting combat looked but the 40K MMO is doing that better. Everything else looks like the basic "amusement park" MMO. If a Stargate MMO is to ever come out, I wouldn't expect it releasing according to it's current vision. They should just purchase the license, throw out everything except the basic textures/models and possibly the engine and do the entire goddamn thing from scratch. What a disappointment...

The game will likely be sold off to Firesky, which is essentially Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment reincarnated minus Gary Whiting (the guy who brought the company into bankruptcy, and who they're fighting in court now). Firesky will continue development likely before they themselves go under.

I'd be all over Stargate Resistance if the price was more reasonable.
