Double Fine just launched a new Kickstarter project! Check it out here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/double-fines-massive-chalice
Core Game Features
Your story emerges as you defend against attacks, complete quests, and respond to randomized events in your attempt to preserve the kingdom.
Line of sight and fog of war mechanics come into play as your squad explores beautiful dynamic 3D battlefields where danger may lurk behind any corner.
Distinct, customizable heroes learn new melee, ranged, and arcane abilities as they age and gain combat experience.
Arrange marriage alliances to ensure your heroic bloodlines can handle any future combat situation.
Battle alongside your ancestors by equipping your heroes with uniquely powerful Bloodline Relics.
Invest your resources in forging new weapons and armor—and gamble on polluting a bloodline by researching dangerous demonic artifacts.
Platform
The game will be available as download for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free and on Steam. No other platforms have been anounced yet.

This looks really nice interesting, but wouldn't Double Fine be stretched pretty thin with this many games on their plate? They are a fairly small company after all, I'm pretty sure they only have about 50~75 employees in total.

From the Kickstarter page:
Another Double Fine Kickstarter?
Last year, you Kickstarted Double Fine Adventure, shattering records and bringing video games to the Kickstarter spotlight! Now known as Broken Age, that game is in full production and is already a beautiful and unique experience—but the Broken Age team only represents a third of our multi-game studio.
Anyway, totally backed.
this looks AWESOME!A
Big Brad Muir fan. This'll end up being my first ever kickstarter backing.
I'm excited for the tactical 3d combat but not for breeding heroes
I like the idea but I get quite attached to characters in this sort of game. I don't know if i'll be able to make it more than a couple of generations before having an emotional breakdown.
