So lately, I've been trying new builds often.
These builds often are accustomed to a characters abilities, getting you the most out of it. While some are situational, some work on any game. I'd like what original builds you guys have made.
I recommend watching this video:

I'll list some of my weird builds.
Some of the things I've done:
Bounty with orb of venom (Stacks with Jinada, works amazingly.)
Omni with orb of venom (Stacks with the passive slow, don't get this if you are playing full support omni.)
Ursa with rod of atos (Rod of atos's slow is insanely scary now, use your phase to maul people to death.)
Ursa with battlefury ( I saw singsing do this, and decided to try this. Basically as you stack fury swipes, the cleaves damage increases to. Makes you insanely devasting if enemies get clunched together.)
Gonna post some I brainstormed a while ago.
Pusher Sven (stack auras on creeps to make them super strong)
Skills
Storm Bolt: Take it at level 1, then max it last. (1, 12, 13, 14)
Great Cleave: Max it second, helps pushing and farming. (4, 8, 9, 10)
Warcry: Max it first, the most important skill. (2, 3, 5, 7)
God's Strength: Whenever you can. (6, 11, 16)
Items
Start with Tango (+Salve), Ring of Protection, Gauntlet of Strenght and Branches.
Make an early Basilius and Bracer.
Get Phase Boots.
Make the following items in whatever order: Drums of Endurance, Vladimir's Offering, Necrobook 3.
Use your tower last hits to get an Assault Cuirass or a Shiva's Guard.

Carry Shadow Shaman
Skills
Ether Shock: Helps you for last hitting and killing people (1, 3, 5, 7)
Hex: Your best skill for 1vs1 fights (2, 4, 8, 10)
Shackles: Almost useless, makes you stand still, that's not what you want as a carry ! Take one level at some point then skip it for stats. (I usually take it at level 15)
Mass Serpent Ward: Much like Lycan, this is your pushing skill as a carry, you can also use it to kill people pretty easily. (6, 11, 16)
Items
Start with a Tango, a Gauntlet of Strenght, a Circlet, and branches.
Make a fast Bracer and Power Treads for survivability, you can upgrade the Bracer into a Drums of Endurance at any point and swicth Treads from Strenght to Intelligence for more power.
Then, rush your three core items: Orchid Malevolence, Rod of Athos and Force Staff, once you have Orchid and any of the other two, you can 1vs1 anybody with ease.
If you keep getting farm and kills, like any good carry would, here's your next item: Eye of Skadi, start by buying the Orb of Venom for even more 1vs1 power. Eye of Skadi will make you impossible to kill in 1vs1, and a gigantic teamfight monster.
Shadowblade on Spirit Breaker so you can charge while invisible across the map. I also get an orchid and cast it right after I nether strike them so I slam them while damage amped and silenced.
I once played with an Earth Shaker who played mid and rushed a Shadow Blade
was actually pretty devastating, he could nearly instagib all other players or at least bring them to 10-20% hp
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
It is pretty sad how badly the community reacts anytime you want to try something that isn't a cookie-cutter build.
Every time I play a range hero with a long cast range and good animation, I usually get an orb of venom, it's good early game harass for only 275g. However the whole team loves to spam how badly of a noob I am (Even when we win the lane)
Uhh, does my stupid sniper build count? It's just me going full retard but I've had some fun times with it when there is an other carry on my team
Skill build:
Shrapnel 1,3,5,7 (PUSH, PUSH, PUSH)
Headshot 2,4,whenever (MINISTUN MINISTUN MINISTUN)
Take aim whatever (TAKE IF YOU LIKE RANGE, OTHERWISE STATS)
Assasinate 6,11,16 (BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM)
Items:
Early game:
-Soul ring (WHO NEEDS HEALTH WHEN YOUR ENEMIES ARE DEAD)
-tranquil boots (IF YOUR ENEMIES ARE ALIVE ENOUGH TO DAMAGE YOU, OTHERWISE ARCANE BOOTS)
-Bottle? (OPTIONAL)
Other items whatever:
-Dagon (ASSASINATE NOT ENOUGH? ZAP THOSE FUCKERS!)
-Blink dagger (No range for dagon after assasinating? BLINK AFTER THEM! or away from them, whichever suits you better)
-Bloodstone (SOUL RING NOT ENOUGH??)
-Rod of Atos? (TRY TO CRAWL AWAY WHILE I ASSASINATE YOUR ASS)
-ORCHID
I always wanted to try Kunkka with Manta and Diffusal, i heard Tidebringer affects the illusions AND the diffusal mana burn effect.
Mage Huskar:
- Start out with usual low gold items that help you get a good start, such as Treads and Urn. Get Morbid Mask if you want the lifesteal for jungling/less Q usage, but unless you rush it early don't get it at all since it slows down your initial build.
- Get either Ghost Sceper or Dagon as your first major items. Ghost scepter allows you to become immune to carries, while you can still use Burning Spears while in ethereal form. Dagon naturally for ult + Dagon instakill combo.
- Upgrade Ghost Scepter into an Ethereal Blade. If you don't already have Dagon, get it now. Use Ethereal Blade on enemy, ult them and then use dagon. They should be dead if squishy, full hp or not. If they aren't dead, throw a spear or two to finish them off.
- Luxury items: Black King Bar, Aghanims Scepter, Necronomicon, Refresher Orb, Dagon 5, another Ghost Scepter, Veil of Discord, Orchid Malevolence.
* BKB allows you to become magic immune, and when combined with ghost Scepter, you are immune to pretty much everything. You still can attack enemies with Burning Spears.
* Aghanims lowers your ult CD and makes it deal more damage.
* Necrobook is useful for pushing and more DPS. The archer can also use his mana burn when the enemy is ghosted, giving you a bunch of more burst.
* Refresher Orb lets you combo another enemy. Since you have a small manapool, buy this only once you have Aghanims.
* Dagon 5 for more burst. Pretty much guaranteed kill if you do the Ethereal Blade + Ult + D5 combo.
* Ghost Scepter is a cheap "luxury" item that is useful against carries. Combine with BKB for fun.
* Veil gives you good stats and a boost to your magic damage. Apply before your kill combo for even more damage.
* Orchid, like Veil, gives good stats and a damage amplifier. Veil is for more defensive purposes, Orchid for more offensive.
Pros:
+ Kills anyone instantly
+ Nobody expects you to kill them instantly
+ You still have good base damage from your abilities, meaning you can still carry
+ You can throw spears when ghosted
+ BKB + Ghost Scepter give you godmode
+ If you have Veil + Orchid + Eth Blade, your ult should do about 75-90% of their HP as damage.
+ If you have all the above and Aghanims, it pretty much instakills everything except enemies who stack magic resist
Cons:
- Expensive
- You may possibly reported if you don't do well
- One trick pony; Enemies get BKB and you can't do jack

A vid where I tested it against bots. I have played against palyers and it does work.
I always wanted to try Kunkka with Manta and Diffusal, i heard Tidebringer affects the illusions AND the diffusal mana burn effect.
Sadly the Manta illusions don't prock tidebringer. Already tried it.
No idea about the diffusal though.
Also Carry Pugna is fun as fuck.
Luxury items : Dagon, Bloodstone, Rod of Atos, and Aganhim.
Skillbuild : Blast - 1,4,5,7 Decrepify-2,12,13,14 Ward-3,8,9,10 Lifedrain-6,11,16
Derepify with a Dagon is so fucking scary. Atos with Decrepify=No movement.
Infinite mana+No Ult Cooldown=Fuck your DPS I'll just take your health.
Shadow Blade on Tiny. Not sure how unique, but it gives an incredible auto-attack from stealth which is followed by stun/toss and one more attack swing if needed.
I've never tried it, but I spectated Merlini and he ganked incredibly well for a Tiny.
I've been mocked for it, but Anti-Armor whore Juggernaut is amazing.
My core is Medallion + Phase. A Medallion will make any hero easy pickings for your ultimate, since it does physical damage. This also gives you the benefit of some much needed mana regen. From here, I pick one of three items- Drum, AC, or Deso. Drum if my farming is going poorly, AC if I'm not the hardest carry on the team, or Deso if I just want to do damage.
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
Then I tend to build either a Aghanims Scepter or BKB.

I would love to see this with a Bounty, Slardar, and Dazzle.

I already play BH like that, it's pretty crazy
Deso on dazzle is pretty amazing as well.
I'm just getting into Death Prophet so I'll have to give that build a try, especially since Rod of Atos got buffed recently.
Thanks for the video.
OD, but instead of rushing a mek or a force staff. I just build a Linkens instead and then I build what our team need. After that I build an AC so I get more armor and shitloads of attack speed.
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
Also Manta style on skeleton king after armlet and pts.
I really want to try bulding a Diffusal/Aghanim/ maybe Orchid Winrunner.
That's gotta be really devastating to mana paired with Focus Fire and Shackleshot.
I find a Crystalys on Windrunner is pretty good if you have the gold to spare, works really well with her ult.
Oh also, Armlet Rush on Dazzle works incredibly well.
FORCE STAFF ON EVERY HERO
I find a Crystalys on Windrunner is pretty good if you have the gold to spare, works really well with her ult.
Does it work well with power shot too?
FORCE STAFF ON EVERY HERO
force + rod of atos on ursa is fucking funny
Skeleton king with force is pretty core tbh, it's just amazing on him.

Well, it was until the lats update.
ICEFROOOOOOG, WHY YOU RUIN MY FAVORITE POCKET STRATS?
Shadow Blade on Bounty Hunter. I got rated dumb like twelve times by bads for posting this before so let me explain this for y'all.
You can activate Windwalk and Shadow Blade at the same time to get both damage bonuses along with a speed boost. Your Windwalk damage bonus is not normally boosted by Jinada but your Shadow Blade is. This means you'll be doing (your normal damage + 30 passive from the blade + 150 blade backstab) x 2.25, plus a bonus 120 from windwalk, which is a fucking gigantic burst for you, more than you'd get from Desolator at that point, and it's pretty easy to get 700-800 damage in one hit. If you get it early enough you will be two-shotting their supports over and over again. The passive stats are good, and having a backup invis + speed boost is really good if you get caught with your pants down and WW on cooldown.
The backstab being multiplied by Jinada rather than just being a rider is a bug though, so abuse this while you can before it gets fixed.
I once bought Shadow Blade as Phantom Lancer. Permanent invisibility ahoy.

its still good
I once bought Shadow Blade as Phantom Lancer. Permanent invisibility ahoy.
Shadow Blade on Shadow Shaman is pretty funny.
They both have Shadow in them so clearly it is intended.
This is generally how I build Anti Mage

^Tried that on Diretide, very funny matches. Dagoning Roshlings ultimate farming machine :v
I like to go carry Enigma but whenever I do my friends always tell me to never play Enigma again.
By that I mean I get an Eye of Skadi at 20mins in and they flame me for days about it. It's actually an amazing item on Enigma from my experience.
[editline]5th November 2012[/editline]
With Skadi he becomes a dangerous ganker and counters Furion quite well. It also gives him lots of tankiness from the Str and Agi gain. Mix that with Radiance and all of a sudden you become extremely dangerous for not only your black hole, but your ability to solo even a Bloodseeker.
^ If no one gets Mekanism and if you have no trouble Blackholing 3-5 people without BKB/Blink, or so. I mean.. usually Enigma is not needed as a carry.
I'd probably get Hex instead of Skadi, it actually gives more auto-attack damage and 150% mana regen, and a Hex, with the 15 less str and agi and no health/mana boost. Which are not really needed if you have power treads (or mana boots) and as little as Meka.
A Dagon, Arcane Boots, and Force Staff is good enough on Rubick. Dagon for when your abilities are on cool down or you want to finish a fight quickly, Force Staff for retreating. Nothing too unique.
Thinking of trying for Bloodstone first with Arcane Boots or something else like Eye of Skadi.
