I have a problem with minecraft. I can rarely get the fps over 30! it usually hovers at around 10-15 which makes me very mad. I know it is not my processing power or anything like that because i can play Garrys Mod and Half Life 2 without any lag.

Oh i have JDK but im not sure what version...
Yeah it's shit - get a better graphics card. Oh wait you have a laptop, nevermind you're fucked.
So you think thats the problem? eh well i hope to be building my computer soon so im gonna get an NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX
There is a megathread for this kind of stuff!
Yeah, you might want to go to the HW/SW to get a better laptop or PC Building to build a PC.
And  at you suggesting that the OS wouldcouldshould be the cause :3:
Why didn't you post this in the already existing thread? :psyduck:
Do you have an ATI card? Turn off Adaptive AA in Catalyst Control Center if you do, it wreaks havoc with Minecraft. I'm assuming you don't have integrated graphics but god help you game-wise if you do. :v:

9800 is old but should work well enough.
Also, use the downloadable version.

It's integrated Intel card. Which pretty much means that it's using processor.

you know it's funny that you say this believing you know anything about 64bit os's considering they frequently do experience compatibility issues because most applications are built for 32bit
