I'm in love. Does anyone own this game? And how good is it, really?
It's good, but if you're gonna buy it you'll need a joystick or you'll eventually cry when you crash all the time.

I was also thinking about using my Xbox 360 controller, just for better control. [editline]11:56AM[/editline] Here are my system specifications: Pentium 4 3.5Ghz, 1G RAM, 200gb HD, Nividia Geforce 6600 Graphics. Will it work?
That'll probably work just fine, my office computer can run on it on almost the highest, although it lags alot on that acrobatic plane. Be sure to remove all Traffic though with only 1 GB RAM or you could have some trouble with lag.

The landing can be a little shaky, but I get the plane on the runway without destroying anything. It's ctrl + y to enable mouse control, by the way.

I wonder if the weapons on that Apache can be used, as well. It's an AlphaSim product.

The gauges ran very smooth in the Virtual Cockpit, is that how they work in FSX? I know in Fs2004 the more gauges you had in the virtual cockpit, the worse each of them would run. They would have their own refresh rates of maybe 1 time a second to 4 or 5 times a second. Even if your game ran at 60 frames per second, the Virtual Cockpit gauges would run around 5, even worse in the Captain Sim C-130. Made ILS Approaches using the VC nearly impossible

But takes up a lot of space. But still fun. You might not be able to see weather on your computer but that doesn't matter that much.
No my X-Plane is better. [editline]10:23PM[/editline] By the way, the FAA uses x-plane for certification
Aye, but X-plane is probably rather limited in the selection of aircraft, even if it is a better flight simulator. After all, if I'm not mistaken, it was designed primarily with training in mind, while FSX was marketed as an entertainment product.
I love FlightGear though, free is better when it's just as good as the one you pay for.
Rotary-winged aircraft as well?
Yes: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=92 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=53 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=55
That longbow is not in the game, neither are all those beautiful custom textures. Even on maxx'd it doesn't like quite as good.
I just got this the other day and I'm loving it. I found a port of the Curtiss Jenny from the 2004 version so I'm happy, and there's a really nice Tomcat out there too. I find most of the planes pretty uninteresting compared to 2004 but the overall improvements on the game are great, especially with the toggleable mouse controlled camera in the cockpits. The Ultralight and F-18 are easily the most fun to fly short of addons.
Last april, as a prank, I modelled a collossal cock in gMax and set it up on my brother's rig at an upcoming destination on our round the world flight. I also changed his keyboard setup, so when he hit the landing gear button he actually shut off all engines. It was amusing to watch my brother trying to focus while gliding with his 747, trying to dodge that enormous cock blocking most of Frankfurt. Good times, good times...
Major bump, but this thread needs a revival. Just tested out an F-15, I guess my joystick might need some tuning because holy shit it's hard to fly at that speed.
I love it, turn up Vehicle density to max, then fly really low over cars. The only bad this is the lack of crash animations.
i used to play it but when i try to install it now i get an error i dont wanna reformat :(
