Fonts in some Steam games messed up

Can anyone help me work out why certain Steam games have messed up fonts? I have noticed that in Garry's Mod, a custom HUD that used one of the GMod/HL2 fonts before, now uses a standard Windows font, and in the Galactopticon mod, it uses a font that I don't even have on my computer. Anyone know why this is happening, and moreover, how to fix this?

Galactopticon uses a custom font.

I know that. But, I have a completely different font from before, and it blocky, grainy, and all caps and the symbol on the first line is a skull and crossbones.

Also, Garry switched it to the font it is now.

That's not what it is supposed to look like. I had a different, and correct font, before, and my GMod one has changed weeks after the latest update.
