• PS3 worthbuying?

I have been wanting a PS3 for a small amount of time mainly for Little Big Planet. I like how it can double as a Blu Ray but my dad sees no need in getting a blu ray player. So i will have to find another excuse. I will be getting a 40 something inch screen so i want to know if if it comes with an HDMI cable or i have to buy it separately. Also is it worth getting? I know this can start a fight so i will try to counter that before it happens I am a 14 year old boy with $600 dollars I was planning on building a computer but it is too pricy so i guess i can wait. I have an Xbox360 and it is great but i do want to play games like Socom and Little Big Planet. Maybe my situation can help keep people on track Thanks
You have to buy the HDMI cable separate, and the PS3 in my opinion is worth getting. There's also a marketplace just like the XBL one, but you can also rent movies from it. There are many good exclusive PS3 games.
Yes. You don't have to pay for online and shit. /thread
I'm in the exact same situation now. The 360 is fantastic, but after watching E3 the PS3 has some really nice games coming out soon. I'm not interested in the Blu-Ray crap, but some of the games look really fun. I might wait a year or so until the price goes down, but I would try to stay away from getting the console just to play 2 or 3 games.
after getting the Evo 4G for my birthday i think the PS3 and LittleBigPlanet2 could be a Christmas present. I dont mind paying $50 for online i like it alot
worth buying just as much as any other current gen console
Just stay whit the Xbox, it feels as such a waste to spend so much for only 1 or 2 (perhaps 4-5 in the future) games. Besides, Little big planet isn't realy that good but yes it's fun. There's other great games coming just for Xbox like Fable 3 and Halo: reach. And the kinect ;).
Yes, get a ps3, probably the best thing you'll ever buy
It's an expensive blu-ray player. You have an xbox already, and DVD is still good, so screw the blu-ray, costs out the arse anyway. An if you already have one of the 2 major consoles it's not like you're missing out on THAT many games. Save up for a pc !

Although LittleBigPlanet is fun, it gets old.
I bought an HDMI cable on eBay for $3, its not that expensive, unless you go with the really good ones.
Metal Gear Solid 4 LittleBigPlanet LittleBigPlanet 2 Killzone 2 Killzone 3 God of War 3 Ratchet and Clank Demon's Souls Uncharted Uncharted 2 3D Dot Game Heroes MotorStorm Gran Turismo 5 Heavy Rain SOCOM 4 Wipeout Those are just some of the games you'd be missing out on without a PS3. If they don't appeal to you, then don't bother getting a PS3. I'd recommend it though.

PS3 has move coming which will be way better.

Only negatives I found with Kinect is that you can't sit, and all the little kid games.
Unless you're REALLY attached to the 360's exclusives, I'd go with the PS3. Seems like a better choice overall, for the most part.
But it is like an addiction i really LOVE sandbox games, I love Garrys Mod, Halo Forge, and Little Big Planet for PSP. I thought the PS3 could be the next console for me since we revamped our office with an HDTV so while my brother is playing Xbox360 i thought it would be cool to play something, also money IS an object thats why i might want to wait 2 years until i can get a job and make some money to build a PC my interest is only going to get higher and higher in computer science so i dont see a reason to save a ton of money now [editline]09:42AM[/editline] @oryan alot of people at my school make fun of PS3 owners who dont also own an Xbox360 and scold you when you dont play it religiously, I dont think im missing anything becuase i also have an xbox so i could have acess to ALL exclusive games.
Maybe you could consider getting both of them refurbished, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds while saving some money.
I own the Xbox360 Elite but for some reason my dad has something against used items.
Well ever since it went down in price it has been more than worth it. Get it.
If your a hardcore gamer then save your cash. If your semi-hardcore/family/movie and video watching person/casual gamer then PS3 is perfect.
In fact, here's one for $250 http://www.consumerdepot.com/products.asp?id=98017
