firstly- the game will get support, so- we might get cool stuff like... better- possibly even community made textures like this http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/screens/31088?img=http://dog.fpsbanana.com/ss/srends/26208.jpg body groups to make up the soldiers, so we never see the same guy twice options to change what uniform the characters have (for snow maps, the soldiers will have a thin layer of snow on them. for hotter maps, Americans get a tan colour uniform, in forest maps the werchmact get camo and the yanks get green) brits, russians, japs, italians etc parachutes, riffle butting, better animations, npcs (for new maps, not for old) we could have a loadout system. nothing epicly game changing like tf2s spy update or anything. stuff like... having an fg42 rather than an stg44 having a slightly different colour kar98 (see that pic i posted) having an mg34 instead of a mg42 having a bayonet and grenade instead of a riffle grenade the reason i put that in bold is because its an excuse for people to complain (you can also ignore i said this, the rest seems to be a no brainer, but the bold is going to make people argue) anyone want to join my cause
The idea of the game being handed off to a 3rd party dev or even the community is not new. Here's the thing about DOD:S: In the two years since the OB update came out, people have been dreaming of every possible update for the game. In that time, Valve has done nothing but fix game breaking bugs. They managed to release the Mac version without even touching the actual game files. It seems like once a week someone gets on the forums and says "Hey guys, Valve should do this:" and all we can do is say "yeah, that's nice, but it's never going to happen."
Just for fun they need to make a bigger map and you're able to take a tank with you. Only one, though. You can fit two people inside it. Think people will grief? Oh well, deal with it. :v:
