I quit steam to fix the games-not-working bug I've been having lately, and when I try and start steam back up, the first error is something about steam.exe being deleted but the application is still there...
Uh...okay.
Try it again, the shortcuts gone.

Gone to the steam folder, steam.exe is gone but everything else is there.
What the hell happened and how can I start steam up :argh:
Redownload and reinstall Steam. Should work.

Seems to have worked, steams starting up and updating.
The installer seems to be stuck on 0 seconds, though.

on a related note, try to run the installer in admin mode, helps with some programs for me sometimes
Happened to me. Had to reinstall EVERYTHING :c
Just make a copy of the Steamapps folder then reinstall Steam and manually put Steamapps back in.

you could have just double clicked a game's shortcut, but if you didn't have any do it now if it happens again
Happened to me before, the reinstall trick as mentioned above should do it.

Really, if re-installing needs to be done, but it doesn't work, just delete your games, reinstall them before you go to sleep, leave your computer on, then they'll be done. Yay.
