Some copy pasta :
Players will choose from among three character classes, and venture from the safety of the town of Torchlight into randomly generated dungeon levels, with a huge variety of creepy monsters, endless variations of loot to find, and quests to complete. The endless randomization ensures a long-lived gameplay experience.
Randomization - Our level layouts are randomly created, so each adventure is unique. Monsters, treasures, puzzles, and items are also different each time you embark on an adventure
Easy, approachable interface - Torchlight is designed to be easy to play right from the beginning. The intuitive interface gives players easy access to a rich and varied world
Retirement System - Once characters are sufficiently leveled up, they can “retire” and bestow specific benefits and perks to new characters
Pets - Players will choose a pet to accompany them. Pets can level up along with the player, and will help in battle, carry items, and perform a variety of helpful services
Character Classes - Players will create and customize a character from one of three classes available, and choose an animal companion. Through cosmetic choices, skill path decisions, and the treasures they acquire, each character will be custom-tailored and different
Fishing - Players can take a break from the high-energy pace of adventuring to visit one of the fishing holes and relax and see what they can catch. Fish have interesting benefits for the player and pet, and other rewards can also be discovered
Included Editor - Runic Games is embracing our modding community by including an editor so our players can create and design their own content

The few flaws that are inherent in Torchlight are simply by-products of the genre. The game is repetitive, it’s unavoidable in an action RPG and can be a turn off to gamers unfamiliar with that type of play. The scope of the adventure too is limited, as you delve further and further into the underworld, floor after floor, you may find yourself longing for a more fully realised world, like the one found in Titan Quest. These flaws do detract from the experience, but they are relatively minor when faced with the polish and quality to be found dripping from Torchlight. The one cave-eat that does truly impact the experience is the lack of multiplayer. Runic Games plan to release a free-to-play MMO based on the same world at a later date, but this release is limited to single player. As any Diablo II veteran will tell you, the game truly comes alive when playing with friends, the same would likely be true with Torchlight, but for now we have to explore it solo.
Torchlight showcases the decade and a half of experience making Action RPGs on offer at Runic Games effortlessly. It’s cheap, cheerful and tightly designed. Anyone looking for a loot frenzied action fix until Diablo 3 emerges from development need look no further.

Developers admitting flaws? Hmm, maybe this deserves a look see.

It's not from a dev.
What the fuck? No multiplayer? An action RPG without multiplayer?
Pass.
I looked trough forums and they seem to like it. Gameplay wise. And the "graphics aren't that bad maxed out".
Also , the game was made in 11 month by a small team !

See Dragon Age: Origins.

They are going to add one... Later. -Oh wait . Not really.
See Dragon Age: Origins.
Hardly an Action RPG.
Diablo-likes are what most people refer to as an action RPG.
And yeah, how the hell did they release this without multiplayer?! It's not an ARPG until it's got multiplayer. :v:
Regardless, I'm gonna try the demo.
I think the whole game is really 800mb .
It's p. cool, loads and I mean loads of mobs to fight at once.
I finish DLing the demo and I tell you what it worth...
I saw the gun in the inventory and was like "want".
Even though I'll never use it due to the long reload time it probably has.
But still, I'm getting this.
I can no longer find this on the Steam store?
Game is too easy on medium ... I think it's a bit slow paced.
Played some of the demo. It was brilliant, I was a sword-swinging, gun-toting, cat-commanding force of doom.
Now it needs co-op. :saddowns:

The guy that made that video is a troll or retarded. Or both.
Yeah I'm gonna say he's both.
Does anyone know how long the demo lasts I'm on the third floor of the main dungeon, and there's no sign on ending yet...
This sounds and looks a lot like Fate.

Which itself is a shameless Diablo clone.
Yeah, but this game has dynamically generated dungeons, infinite replayability...

I'm pretty sure this was made by former Diablo, Diable II, Fate, and MYTHOS developers. All a bunch of Diablo-likes.

Ever played Diablo?
Not recently, and now I feel like a dumbass. :v:

So does Fate
and the Diablo games
I got this game almost because of Mark Uelmen. He made the soundtrack for Diablo 2, so.

I would say buy this game and support the developers. They are planning on making Torchlight into an MMO later on and hopefully if they get enough support from Torchlight it will speed it up a bit.
The MMO is going to use the exact same engine and style. So it'll be an RTSMMO supposedly.
Personally I think this looks amazing and perfect to kill time for D3, but sadly I can't buy any games at the moment.
A Diablo style MMO? Intriguing.
This game is awesome.
I shall try this game out.
I love this game, it's like Diablo 2, but with better graphics and other cool features.
Downloaded the game yesterday and played it for few hours, it was great fun. I love the musics (same style as in diablo).
Also dual-wielding pistols <3
