Half Life 2 fire won't show up

I have Half Life 2 for the PC and the fire won't show up. I can see everything else fine but there is no fire.

Can you please help?

I've played through Half Life 2 Ep: 1 on the same computer and the fire worked, so I don't know what the deal is.

The verify option wont show up when I right click.

Keron, no in your Steam library right click on the game of your selection (i.e Half Life 2) then left click on Properties and go to Local Files and then Verify Integrity of Game Cache and if it need a file replaced await until it does so.

Didn't work, fire still doesn't show up, but the metro police's Stun sticks show electricity now.
