If you, like us, have already completed Portal 2's single-player and co-op campaigns a number of times, you're probably waiting on pins and needles for news about downloadable content. Well, you can now move to much less prickly chair -- in a recent interview with Fast Company, Valve VP of marketing Doug Lombardi said, "We will be announcing some DLC for it, so folks can keep a look out for more content coming this summer."
According to Lombardi, more details about the content will be coming "in a week or so," adding, "We'll support that with more videos or more comics." We'll hope against hope that said DLC is more substantial than the co-op bot skins that are available through the PC and Mac versions' in-game stores. Actually, as long as we're hoping, we're going to keep our fingers crossed for like, a hundred new co-op courses. And a new single-player campaign! And a pony!
!UPDATE!
It's FREEEEEEEEEEE
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/29/portal-2-dlc/
Well, this perhaps goes some way towards making up for the whole over-priced robot hats thingy. Official word has just arrived in our inbox from Valve that the first full-on DLC for the lovely Portal 2 will be free (on all platforms), and promises “new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.” That news again: free. The list of planned content also suggests there’ll be something a little more challenging than in the main game (the arguable ease and signposting of which we had a slight but affectionate moan about in our verdict yesterday), and a chance to really push Portal 2′s crazy physics as far as they’ll go.

And a new single-player campaign!
I hope it's Rat Man related.
"We'll support that with more videos or more comics."
Yes please.
Source SDK update pleaaaaaaaaase. Can't be bothered to hack around the Alien Swarm SDK.
Oh fuck yes.
Source SDK update pleaaaaaaaaase. Can't be bothered to hack around the Alien Swarm SDK.
Jeez, the game hasn't even half a month and you think they are giving you yet the SDK? It takes time.
Hats
Yayyy :D More GLaDOS please :)
"We will be announcing some DLC for it, so folks can keep a look out for more content coming this summer."
Oh, I guess I'll just have to wait to see what it is.
According to Lombardi, more details about the content will be coming "in a week or so,"
FUCK YEAH
oh cool, portal 2 dlc
And a pony!
BUT PLEASE, NONE OF WHAT I JUST QUOTED
i wonder what a new singler player campaign would be?
1 week valve time.
And in other news, valve likes ponies.
cording to Lombardi, more details about the content will be coming "in a week or so," adding, "We'll support that with more videos or more comics."
translation: another ARG is on the way
So is it free for pc users?
I'm looking forward to it, I honestly enjoyed Portal 2 very much. To bad there most likely won't be a third one.
i wonder what a new singler player campaign would be?
Well there were a lot of test subjects, not to mention employees. As for canon there's plenty of room to go before OR after the events of the game.
Maybe they'll have new personality cores :buddy:
So is it free for pc users?
HOPEFULLY YES!
But probably no for Console versions
Plus why would they add ponies?
Considering he's saying "in a week or so" the earliest we can assume to get news is in 5 or 6 months.
Most likey they'll just add a course to co-op. I wouldn't mind that.
I hope they just release new levels, much much harder levels. Levels which are a lot more to do with timing, then time. I.e. You must be able to both figure it out, and execute what you've figured out, while still figuring it out.
Essentially it was too easy whilst also being mind-fuckingly hard.
i wonder what a new singler player campaign would be?
they said they're hoping for a new campaign, they haven't announced anything yet.
it'll probably be like 2 sets of coop maps for the hub.

Yeah, I was wondering why everyone was taking that part so seriously, I just quoted the joystiq article.
