First, Counter Strike: Source: When I try to use find servers section, I get: "Steam beta must be running to make use of find servers" Tried to: - Reinstalling CS:S - Using steam beta update - Restarting Steam - Restarting computer - Everything else I found from internet What can I do? Second, Garry's Mod latest update (93). When I try to startup, the window appears and then I get error: "Engine error - NO STEAM APPS" One of my steam friends gets the same, for most of them it works fine. [editline]02:08PM[/editline] Tried reinstalling gmod, didnt work. [editline]02:24PM[/editline] Found something... TF2 says "Steam beta must be running..." thing too when using find servers... weird.
Hell mines worse. Alien Swarm: NO STEAM Exit GMod: Engine error: NO STEAM APPS! TF2: works fine as far as I know Don't know what the hell GMod and Alien Swarm are doing. Restarting steam helps.
For me, restarting steam doesnt do a shit.
Erase every steam game from your computer including steam and reinstall everything over again.
That would take ages. But i'll test it later if nothing else works.
Just trying to help.
Reinstalled whole steam and everything started to work... But maybe I should take backups of my saves next time I do that :D
Do not worry about HL2 and all those saves. They are in steam cloud. Gmod is not though. I miss my fleet of pod ships I made a year ago.

Before you reinstalled everything you should have tried deleting everything in your Steam folder apart from Steam.exe and /steamapps/

Uninstall steam, reinstall it with all the games you need over night.
