Anything you see can be broken down and rebuilt elsewhere. Craft items, build structures, set traps and dig deep underground in search of precious resources to help your gnomes survive the harsh lands. Build your kingdom and stockpile wealth to attract wandering gnomads to your cause, but be wary of also attracting enemies! • Procedurally generated world - Every game is different • Fully destructible environment - Everything can be mined, dug, chopped and rebuilt or used for crafting • Open sandbox gameplay - Play how you want - manage a peaceful town or build up military and fend off invasions. • Crafting - Tons of items to craft at different workshops • Mechanisms - Construct elaborate contraptions using parts like hatches, levers, steam engines Download! <= This link always contains the latest version The demo verison is the full version of the game with only 1 limit and that is that you are not able to save/play after the 6th in-game day. But no worry, if you would like to try again just click "Quit" in the game to do a New Game and so you can make a new one! You will be able to continue with your game once you bought the game! [t]http://i.imgur.com/JQN91.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/qjwbK.jpg[/t][t]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yi0BiSwwCHI/UAwtqT6MChI/AAAAAAAAAzs/zMBwbZ9cYDg/s1600/Gnomoria+2012-07-01+12-43-53-19.bmp[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/zWMXa.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/gNAGn.png[/t][t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T4kCCXSzIxY/UBAOZjt_5iI/AAAAAAAAA1s/sjnqC5_tpAs/s1600/Gnomoria+2012-07-25+09-13-30-84.bmp[/t] [t]http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/6/66965/2251426-workshops.png[/t] -None so far- What games have inspired and influenced the development of Gnomoria? I play all the games I can get my hands on and have time for. To some degree, they have all had an influence on me. For Gnomoria, the biggest influence has of course been Dwarf Fortress. There are also influences from Dungeon Keeper, the Settlers series, the Anno series, The Sims and even The Incredible Machine. Can I record videos of Gnomoria and put them on YouTube? Definitely! Am I allowed to monetize my YouTube videos of Gnomoria? Yes. Video creators should be able to benefit from their own work. When did Gnomoria start development? Development for Gnomoria started in July of 2011. When will Gnomoria be released? Gnomoria is currently in alpha and available for preorder with immediate access to alpha. The release date is TBD. I don’t plan on an indefinite, prolonged alpha period. When Gnomoria reaches the level of quality expected from a finished game, it will be released but far from finished. Given the opportunity, I plan on continuing support and offering free updates well after release. On what platform will Gnomoria be available? Gnomoria is being developed for Windows. What are the minimum system requirements? OS: Windows Xp, Vista, Win 7 Processor: 2.0 Ghz Memory: 1GB Hard Disk Space: 50MB Video Card: 128mb Video Memory DirectX®: 9.0c or Greater
The game is 20% off right now! On Desura its 6,39 Euro instead of 7,99 and if you don't want Desura but Direct Download you only pay 8.19 Euro! Note: The difference between Desura and Direct is that Desura uses a client and has auto-updating (And cheaper!) while Direct has instant access to the newest build while Desura waiters need to wait a little longer

This wiki contains all the info you need to start playing! is it anywhere near as in-depth as DF?
is it anywhere near as in-depth as DF?
No not really. DF was released in 2006 and from there they added more and more content till this day so by far no. I am playing 2 weeks with my fort and i haven't reached most of the features yet. I guess you should play the demo and judge for yourself by checking all the Workshops and the menu's Statics: 29 Jobs 26 Workshops work-in-progress wire system 100~ Items and objects This doesn't really explain how far the gameplay goes but some people might want to know this :v: New content is added regularly though [editline]8th November 2012[/editline] http://forums.gnomoria.com/index.php?topic=2062.0 Here you can read about some up-coming stuff and what he really wants to do with Gnomoria
I played this when the first thread was made, and it's really, really enjoyable, but all DF-alikes always lack DF's depth. And no, it's not the whole "DF has been around since '06, while this is new" sort of depth, but the ridiculousness of the combat and the body simulation (muscles, bones, skin, nerves, organs) and the personalities of the dwarves (not too important, but still, it effects things). Although I think Gnomoria is the best "gateway" into DF there is. People will play Gnomoria, love it, keep hearing things about DF, and eventually try it. I like to play Gnomoria when I don't feel like dealing with DFs interface, or want to make a cool fort, and actually be able to see it.

But if you want DF then i guess you should play Dwarf Fortress with a graphic pack. I mentioned DF in the title since it kinda plays like it and has some of the basic gameplay elements from it

I tried it myself and I was patient, yet it was to much and I did not have the time to invest in learning how the game works. On the other side, games like Gnomoria allow players to experience this concept and play a game similiar to DF. Which seems like a great idea to me, perhaps there are future Gnomoria players who will get in DF after playing it.

If Dwarf Fortress gets more and more players i hope other people will realize the potential of it and also hope that someone make a game that is in a different theme (Like Gnomes) but has the same craziness of DF.. A man can dream
My first mountain hold went on fine, then a couple of hours into the game all my gnomes gathered around my towns well, and one by one, they all died of thirst :<

There will never be an AAA game similiar to Dwarf Fortress, perhaps from concept. But never on the same scale of detail and complexity.
I keep getting random crashes were the game stops responding. Anybody else getting this?
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1192997 do 8.14 saves still crash on load up? [editline]8th November 2012[/editline] yak what are you doing
Couldn't figure out how to get a soldier equip and make him attack so Goblins decimated my Kingdom. Going to play again and build a completely above-ground settlement.
Couldn't figure out how to get a soldier equip and make him attack so Goblins decimated my Kingdom.
The combat system is kinda silly, for example the gnomes don't run into safety (or run at all) when there is a goblin around
It's reached the point where I just need to play in Peaceful mode because they keep coming back and slaughtering everything and I can't really figure out how to equip soldiers and all. Also the terraforming in this game is bullshit. You can dig a one-block tall hill completely flat but you have hovering 'floors' of grass above what you just dug out.

You guys are going to have to explain this to me. I tried digging ramps/digging holes and they ended up getting stuck every time and sometimes it was impossible to get them out. Same thing when remove-floor is used. [editline]9th November 2012[/editline] Also anywhere get the bug where sometimes it will just not let you click ANYTHING. Like the game is active but using the cursor you can click things but prompts won't come up, I can't unpause the game etc. I can right click to bring up the menu and click some things but I can't use the X to get out of them and all. Can't use options or save so I have a game that hasn't crashed but I cannot save it or close it.

Sure it's slow, but your gnomes do not get stuck.
You remove one floor at a time until you get to the last row. Sure it's slow, but your gnomes do not get stuck.
removing 1 row is faster
Wow, that sucks. Anyway, I finally started a game I'm relatively content with. It seems like I'm not making enough wine to make a pronounced increase. But I've got a really nice setup so far, everyone has personal quarters and I have one entrance to the Fortress with doors, so once I get some Gnomads I'm going to draft them into a squad of two or three soldiers to constantly guard it. My Farm is very vulnerable however, since it's outside and all. Do Goblins like spawn randomly? Is it possible for one to just show up inside my Fortress out of no where? Because that'd be a slaughter.
Um, yeah, AI isn't very smart at this stuff. :v: [editline]10th November 2012[/editline]
Wow, that sucks. Anyway, I finally started a game I'm relatively content with. Also, I think you can have your crops inside.
what is this
It's a legendary alpaca sausage. [THUMB]http://www.kilblaanfarm.com/alpaca.jpg[/THUMB]
Does that come from a legendary alpaca, or is it just the sausage that's legendary?
what is this
make a legendary alpaca sausage sandwich and your gnome that eats it can go for 3 years or so without food(?)
guessing its just the sausage
My Fortress was doing great until Goblins overwhelmed my two guards. I nearly faced extinction with barely five Gnomes to support a huge fortress by themselves. Luckily I had enough stockpiled wine and food to recall my Farmers/Ranchers, left my Yak to die and brought everyone inside hoping they didn't simply walk through the door. Three days later Gnomads came and I have a three fully equipped Gnomes at the gate and a walled off Farm for protection.
my base is p horribly designed [t]http://puu.sh/1oDNQ[/t]
Okay, I'm just starting out on this game, but I feel like I'm missing something extremely simple here...Why aren't they building my loom?
