Subject: World of Warcraft Account Password Verification (What accounts of mines should I do?)
I hope the Subject lured you in.
Douche.
Ok, now, this is a list of reasons that you have untimately failed:
1.
I do not even play/have an account on World of Warcraft.
2.
You really think you could trick me with the slightly changed URL trick? Just look: www.worldofwarcrawft-account.com
You made it even more obvious with the "-account" part.
3.
What "recent change(s)"?
What "serious security risks"?
Oh, right. The risk is that you are stealing peoples account.
4.
- Be wary of “spoof” and scam websites and e-mails that pose as Blizzard Entertainment and request account or personal information. As a reminder, Blizzard Entertainment representatives will *never* ask you for your password.
Well, I hope everyone else is wary about this spoof e-mail that is sent by somebody posing as somebody at Blizzard.
5.
If anyone actually did contact Blizzard, you wouldn't get that account.
6.
You missed out some words.
7.
You try to seem like Blizzard by giving all these security measures that people should use, and try and overly make it seem automatic, yet the errors which I noted before make it an obvious copy and paste.
8.
You are a fucking loner,
9.
who has no friends,
10.
and try's to get money by selling account because they cannot get a job.

Sadly is just seemed to redirect to the actual Blizzard...

Subject: Customer Support - Phishing Emails
Greetings,
Thank you for contacting us regarding said emails. The email you received was not sent by a representative of Blizzard Entertainment. In fact we have never sent anything to this email address before.
These "phishing" emails tend to disguise themselves with our own email address in an attempt to gain account information. We are aware of these "phishing" emails and have a team working to resolve this issue.
**Further examples of phishing e-mails can be found at**
http://us.battle.net/security/types.html#phishing
In the case that you are being spammed by this type of email please know that Blizzard is unable to prevent a party outside of our company from sending emails to you, however you can set the emails to go into your junk/spam folder if you wish.
Feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Game Master Nanstalza

However they have sent me emails before... So is that guy still scamming?
Anyway, tell us about all the scam emails or the such (anything similar, like people trying to steal accounts in-game, etc) that you have received.
Warchief Thrall himself invited me to the beta the other day. I declined the offer.
I know those emails all too well:

If you use your email account thats registered to your BNET account for registration to third party wesites that offer addons, forums etc, thats a likely place where the farmers are getting your email address from.
Ive never had a single scam email sent to my registered BNET address, and tons to a junk yahoo address that Ive used to register to tons of forums/addon sites etc. (that is accessed from another computer that is not used to play wow on :) )

This is a fine example of slight paranoia
This is a fine example of slight paranoia
very slight
I was told that I need to send some guy my assassins creed CD key so my account would not become permanently banned for hacking
I have never played AC 1 or 2
I deleted it, but there wasn't even a link
at the bottom it said "please reply ASAP so your account will be unfreezed and you can play again. This was the first mention of an "Account Freezing"
That last email you got was also not from Blizzard. Just so you know.
Description: test account and permanently disabled can not compensation
Damn, I cannot compensation
[editline]02:06PM[/editline]
and neither can disabled people
[editline]02:07PM[/editline]
I have like 50 in my inbox, one of them just says Hello

I get these even on emails I don't use for wow
I get aion phishing ones, and apparently live in the US
I was sitting here thinking you were dumb for posting this. Then I saw how they totally fooled you with their reply. You actually thought you got a reply from blizzard, thank you for not wasting my tame. It gave me a nice chuckle.

They're not even using the right font :gonk:
I like the ingame messages I get, such as YOUR ACCOUNT IS COMPLAINTS
In GMail you can do "view original", the scammers mostly list their return adress in there because they're retards.

I don't care about that, it's just that they used a font Blizzard would never use :v:

Oh, was supposed to be responding to OP. :v:
Had some gold seller spamming me last night. I decided to take up most of her time by asking random question, and pretty much troll her for attempting to get me to go to her scam website. After some time I actually got an Email and facebook out of this person. So golden.
