Gratuitous Space Battles - How the fuck do you get fighters to attack?
2 replies, posted
During battle set up I place lots of fighters (80 of them) in 5 squadrons. I set the orders for each squadron to:
Attack fighters
Stick together
Retaliate
And that's about it. I want my fighters to actually move forward and attack the enemy fighters. However despite that my fighters INSIST of turning around and do loops and stuff at the left edge of the screen. This is getting really fucking annoying because without them at the front my frigates get raped by enemy fighters and my cruisers do little to help.
All three (cruisers, frigates and fighters) are custom configurations by the way. And I'm trying to get past the mission "the emerald nebula" but this is just impossible the way it is. This also happens on other maps as well.
So any ideas of how to get my fighters to actually ATTACK the enemy? By the way, priority for engaging enemy fighters is at 100% and move to attack range is also at the highest.
You want to lower the attack range.

With attack range at highest, they want to get as far away as possible.

Ah ok, thanks mate.

That was a breeze. On normal I only lost 83% of my units (from 3 cruisers, 9 frigates and 80 fighters). Thanks for help.
