Alright so i purchased a few games off amazon and one of them was modern warfare 2. That was the last package to arrive (even though it was over night shipping and all others were standard) so i pop open the case i quickly scan over everything i pop it in my xbox 360, it says disc not recognized please clean it with a cloth or restart the console, funny thing is all the other games work fine and all of the games are brand new, is there something wrong with my game or my console so i keep restarting the console and i finally get in the game and proceed to hit the campaign button when it boots me back to dash board and tells me the same error message. And if it helps i have a 250 GB console slim hooked up to a 32" Plasma screen Any help would be very appreciated
what were the other games.
i don't see how that's relevant to the post but here they are anyways, Halo 3, Halo 3 odst, Grand theft auto iv, Red Dead Redemption, Destroy all humans 3 path of the furon, Battle field bad company 2, the whole call of duty series, and 3 pre orders which were just a sheet of paper in the mail congratulating me on over paying for a game which were call of duty black ops, halo reach, and medal of honor
Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 discs are made like garbage. [editline]11:07PM[/editline] My disk has a crack in it and a chunk of the disc missing in the middle, although it works fine. I have many friends that have gone through a ton of those discs. For some reason, my PS3 version of the game that I've had since release day is perfectly fine. It's the plastic they make it out of. Blu-Ray discs are thicker. I think.

A way round the problem would be to install the game to your hard drive when you get the chance.

so what your telling me is that i basicly bought a roll of toilet paper?
Yep. Your best bet is to try to get a refund.
It doesn't read the disc, did you even read the OP?
he said he got it working once.
Wait, what is Amazon's policy on refunds?
Call up Amazon and ask for another one. Thems the breaks with Xbox.

I had this issue when i first got my xbox. Took it into gamestation, waiting 30 minutes, told me it was broke, gave me a brand new one. :)
Anyway, you will definitely need a replacement.
well i just got it to work im playing multi player, i went back to dash board and back into game it runs fine now but im afraid to pop it out now , install to harddrive? or no
Try it if you want. It probably won't make a difference, though. [editline]12:09AM[/editline] You can always uninstall it later if you don't have the space. I have a 250GB harddrive, too. So, you shouldn't really be low on space if you just got it. MW2 loads fast anyway.
It's Modern Warfare 2. No wonder it doesn't work. :v:
don't bring your shit in here
I see humor is not welcome here. Unless I read the thread badly, did you try cleaning the disc or checking if there was something in the disc drive? The same thing happened to me, but it turned out my Xbox was fucked.
it should'nt be my xbox i just got it a week ago and the first game i popped in was modern warfare 2
it should'nt be my xbox i just got it a week ago and the first game i popped in was modern warfare 2
read my above post, if it's still under warranty, do that.
I take it that you tried the other games?
install game it to the hard drive, that way it will only need to read the disc once for it to work.
Sell Xbox and games. Get PC. ??? Profit and fun!
Sell Xbox and games. Get PC. ??? Profit and fun!
seriously fuck off with the elitism shit
Spicy, I told you. It cannot be fixed. The discs are made with terribly cheap plastic.
