Jedi knight 2 isn't working on my windows 7 64bit. everytime i start the game it crashes with a message "jk2mp.exe has stopped working". I tried with compatibility mode also with no luck.
does anybody know what might be the problem and how to fix it?

I pity you. It's an awesome game.
also maybe try running as administrator? which compatability mode are you using?
Tried every compatibility mode and tried running it as an administrator.
It is not Windows 7 causing the problems. I can play it just fine.
It might be 64bit, back when that game came out almost no one used 64 bit.
Unlikely. 64-bit processors can handle 32-bit apps just fine (look on your "Program Files (x86)" folder compared to your "Program Files" folder to see what I mean, notice which one Steam is in, etc)
If anything, this will be a driver issue. Jedi Outcast exclusively uses OpenGL, so make sure you have proper graphics card drivers installed.

My PC is 64-bit as well. Works fine.
Jedi outcast works fine for me on VISTA, but Jedi academy crashes. weird.
Does anyone play the multiplayer anymore? Had some fun times about 5 years ago in the multiplayer and might re-install this if there's still people playing.
No problems here on Windows 7 64-bit. Make sure the game is patched and all of your drivers are up-to-date.
Yep, game works fine for me on Windows 7 64 Bit, never even had to use compatibility mode (I had to run the multi-player on Jedi Academy as an administrator though). Try updating your video card drivers if you haven't, if its not the Steam version, make sure to install the latest patch (1.4 I think).
yea i had the same problem OP i saw a fix for it on the steam forums hold on ill get it for you
