Because it's the vanilla Portal 1 map photoshopped. There's a dev texture on the same place if you load up portal.
When you see the "dynamic" shadows in the high-res pictures, they look like shit, most likely because they are using the flashlight dynamic shadows.

Sorry for the mega bump, But the cars probably fell down into the enrichment center from the parking lot at the end of the first game.
It makes sense when you think about it. The parking lot is right above the GlaDOS chamber, and the vehicles most likely fell through a big hole from the explosion.
As for them being Left 4 Dead cars, Valve often re-uses content from other games. Both Half-Life Episode 2 and Left 4 Dead use Counter-Strike source content, for example.
It seems the car in picture 5 will be involved in a puzzle of sorts, note the arrow.
I hope the dynamic shadows don't look so grainy in the finished game.
I really hope they keep Chell's face. She may not be the best looking, but it just keeps the character for me. It would be like them changing Gordon's look, but still calling him gordon.

well they did add about 3 more degrees of freedom to his "face"
it has a couple more ways to rotate, and has something of an "eyelid"
as well as what appears to be a variable brightness eye.
