"Half-Life Launcher has stopped working" error in Sven Co-op
8 replies, posted
A friend of mine (eggman249) and I recently tried to play some Sven Co-op (4.07) on a private listen server via Hamachi.
I started a server on Toonrun, and so did he, to avoid the infinite reconnect loop bug.
He used the connect command to join, and he succeeded in getting on my server, but his game crashed when he got on the hand-a-pult thingie and was thrown. It gave him this error message: Half-Life launcher has stopped working.
He joined again, but then crashed again with the same error when I got on the hand-a-pult thingie and it said "fire".
I linked him to this thread, and he tried itsaceyo's (post #7's) solution, but it didn't seem to work.
He doesn't seem to get this error nearly as easily if he only plays by himself, but he still eventually crashes and gets the same error.
Here are his system specs, according to System Information:

We haven't tried playing on an online server yet, as of this posts. I also have not tried joining his server, instead of the other way around.
So does anyone know if there even is a solution to this error? We're open to suggestions.
Update drivers, what graphics card does he have?

Is it only on Toonrun he crashes?

We haven't tried any other maps or servers yet. He only got SC yesterday, after all.

He has an NVidia GT 220. His driver version is 197.45, but he will update it to 258.96 WHQL soon.
So far today I haven't crashed in single player, I haven't tried multi player yet. Also, normal half life never crashed, and I can run games like Gta 4 with no lag at all.

Could be something to do with sound. Sven has a custom sound system if I remember right.
We tested Half-Life a while ago to find that it is working without any problems. I hosted a server and he joined. We death matched for a while until he had to get off. He did not crash or receive any errors. So whatever is wrong with Sven Co-op is ONLY wrong with Sven Co-op, or possibly various Half-Life mods.
Rate me late for laziness. I've only just now gotten around to posting this.
svencoop 4.07 is a sack of glitches, errors and bugs ever since they replaced the standard half-life sound system with fmod
However, they said they fixed all the issues in the next update, should be fine
I just read through svencoop.com's recent announcements. It seems the problem will be fixed with the next update like you said, Hell-met.
Thank you.
Toonrun is awesome
