Hey guys. Does anyone here remember the Good old days?
Classic WoW, back when the level cap was 60?
The 14hour long AV matches, PvP ranks, No arenas, and the only BG's were WSG AV and AB?
When raiding was 10x harder than it is now.
When being the level cap acually ment something?
I miss them :(
I played of some 1.12.1 private servers, but it didnt feel the same.
Anyways, post your memories/favorite thing about Classic WoW
PS: Back when Shamans were the most OP class and paladins were Underpowerd.
PSS: Back when Allince could only be paladins, and Horde Shamans.
Cataclysm is a very good improvement, IMO
Back when
- before there were battlegrounds, PvP was based on TM/SS raids
- you flew to every single flight master, and had to manually select the next point
- after BG's came in, you had to queue at the portal - Barrens, Arathi, AV mountains
- you had to grind honor to get the next pvp rank for a piece of blue quality gear, and hoped that someone didnt do better than you and edge you out of a new rank
- players account shared for the HWL/GM ranks - spending 12-14 hours a day in bg's...
- you could 15man BRS & 10man scholo & strat
- you had to run BRD to get into MC.
- 25 players carried 15 others through 40man content to only see them gear up and leave...
- you could wall walk and get into Hyjal
- you could wall walk the mountains from Ironforge all the way to SW, get to an empty space and have fun offering gold to players in an attempt to find you
- you could wall walk to the IF airport
it was good for its time, but now it wouldnt be playable on a large scale.
You mean back when
-Raids were actually challenging
-Getting a Thunderfury was akin to being god
-you had to work for your gear instead of walking into a town and being drowned in gear
-raids were 40 man clusterfucks where only about half that number were actually doing something
Yeah, I miss classic WoW. But sometimes the newer stuff just totally overshadows it.
Remember guys, I want you to post your Favorite thing about Classic/your favoriate memory about Classic.
I miss waiting for expansions...
General rule seems to be that WoW(Pre-TBC/Post Third War) feels more about scale while current WoW is more about playability.

On my old server, the horde was made up of basicly one huge guild and the alliance 12-13 smaller guilds.
The horde guild decimated us every time, they held stormwind for well over a day and constantly raided southshore, killing anyone that didn't /wave at them.
Good times
Give me the difficulty and balance of raids of BC, the classes and their balancing in Wrath, and the raid layouts of vanilla.
BWL with 40 people of awesome skills. Hell yeah.
Classic WoW was the shit! It was way more fun than now.
Waiting for TBC and playing TBC for the first time was epic, so I voted TBC

Oh yeah, Classic WoW was great. Raiding MC all night just to have Raggy drop Shaman gear

It had it's moments
In way classic WoW I remember the alliance waiting in the sewer tunnels in Undercity where the bats come flying out, and ganked the shit out of you as you were trying to leave. Massive battles in Alliance and Horde's citys were always fun. Only time I see an Alliance not in BG is when they're attacking random NPC's as they wonder through a city
Back when Balance was a joke and everything took needlessly too long.
Yeah I remember.
I prefer the good new days of now.

This man is right in a way, I think we are all suffering from severe nostalgia.
Burning Crusade was flawless in comparison to Wrath of the Epics.
Voted BC because exploring other worlds is fun.
TBH I think quality has improved every time an expansion was released.
It's easy to overlook the flaws of an expansion once we are no longer playing it.
In six months there'll be threads saying "Cata is too easy! Remember in Wrath when bosses were hard! Blizz suckks!"
...
Then why did you put a poll in and allow me to vote for something that wasn't classic WoW.
I am talking about my memories, my memories were that it was tedious, unbalanced and greatly inferior to the product we have today.
BC added the most while breaking the least. Only thing I can say that I really disliked about BC was that the 60-69 loot had the worst itemization in history
WotLK added a bunch of shit too, but it also almost ruined raiding completely
and vanilla was cool, but nostalgia is a plague and you need to get over the past
Burning Crusade was the best version, specifically 2.4.3.
While vanilla was nice because it was something totally new for most people, you seem to be forgetting all the pain. Getting an epic mount would take months if you weren't focused. Raiding bullshit especially if you hit 60 a during the naxx or AQ patches as gearing from questing greens to blues was like pulling teeth. BC brought down the amount of grind needed but it still required some co-ordination to do heroics. It also added new things, more accessible raids and arena, while also adding some extremely difficult content (sunwell). Gone where the class limitations of vanilla, enabling you to play most specs it was only really retri, demo, enhance and survival which were never popular in TBC.
LK did add a hell of a lot of useful things but other than ulduar raiding became a lottery, where you enter just for the chance at some loot. People were pugging TotC and ICC very quickly after the content was released, but it seems blizzard want this so...
I remember when you had to go to a instance and use the summoning stone...
:v:

Yes, but back then, everyone was able to wall walk and it didnt require the use of levitate or blink.
i really liked the unbalanced pvp and time absorbing raiding and the fact that most classes only had 1-2 useful specs.
old wow wasnt nearly as hard as people say it was

That wasn't that long ago, that was before the LFD aka 3.3. :v:

i remember when everyone had to walk/fly to an instance, there was no summoning unless if you had a warlock (and as such, warlocks always got dungeon groups). hell, i remember when they added the LFG channel
most of all, i remember when ogres were exceptionally more fat
