Valve is listed in the 2013 exhibitor list as "Steam Valve Corporation", like they were last year. http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/ausstellersuche/express_suche_6/index.php, says 2013 on this page: http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/ausstellersuche/index.php There was a false positive a short while ago that was actually the list from 2012, but this is now for 2013.
obligatory "OMG HL3!! GET HYPE"
whatever they'll show, it will be dota 2 and steam related
They won't show anything there besides maybe CS:GO or DotA 2.
Could be fun, they were giving away shit last year and that year before.
They won't show anything there besides maybe CS:GO or DotA 2.
CS:Go is already released and DOTA 2 is almost out, what's the point of showing games that are already out?
Even more Steam features we don't need. At least not until they improve the servers.
Well and they might be just be doing presentations on the tf2 economy or biometrics or whatever other unholy non-game experiments being performed in castle Valve
I'm ready to take more rainbows for this than the New York City Gay Pride Parade, but I honestly think that Valve is going to tease L4D3 at Gamescom. I think they avoided E3 for a reason - they wanted control over how L4D3 (and SteamBox news) would be controlled by the media. Gamescom is definitely not the video game industry mecca that E3 is, even if it's a huge deal. So naturally, Valve releasing major news at Gamescom would give them a huge amount of publicity.
At the very most they'll mention Source 2. Probably just gonna be about TF2, hardware and interface research.
One can always hope for that last part of hl3 to be mentioned.
At the very most they'll mention Source 2. Probably just gonna be about TF2, hardware and interface research.
Would be sick if there was source 2, l4d3 and hl3, and hl2 was as big as hl1 / hl2 in contrast to the episodes.
Now introducing collectable trophies to further enhance your e-peen! Buy wood for $2.49 to craft Trophy Cases to display on your profile! The more you buy, the more trophy drop chances there are! Buy 10 pieces of wood for a .0001% chance or an extra trophy drop! I just realized how weird the word 'trophy' looks.
Even if they keep mum about Half-Life, I have a feeling that they might show Left 4 Dead 3. If they do, I hope it's not just more of the same but with better graphics, since there are indeed other things they could do with the formula. I dunno if they'd announce Portal 3, since there's probably only so much you can do with that IP that can't be put into Portal 2.
yeah they were giving hl2 with that coupon
And Lost Coast (if it makes a difference) But hey, free games.
Damn, If they do actually show something, that shit will get analyzed down to the last pixel...
a new steam client rebuilt from the ground up [sub][sub]lol[/sub][/sub]
With all this HL3 shit that's been going on the past week, I really hope they release something to do with HL3, if its a demo tape or just an announcement, it could be the beginning of the real arg (similar to the portal 2 bsod). Plus it explains why all this "non-HL3" stuff has been going on; the valve employees know that something is going to be announced and are really excited, letting stupid things like the Korean bug slip through, like a teaser that really doesn't mean anything. Nah that's probably bullshit

Half-Life 2 (PC gamers) and Counter-Strike: Source (PC gamers) were used to push Steam (PC service). Gabe was directly involved in development of Steam and HL2 didn't interest him much. He needed these games only to make his new lovely child successful. It worked perfectly. HL2: EP2 made me buy Portal and Team Fortress 2 (Orange Box), which later became very successful franchises. Half-Life helped Valve (in an indirect way) make billions of dollars, not just by selling copies of the game, but because it was used strategically to interest customers in more profitable products and services. Left 4 Dead is also well known, especially among console crowd... Probably more kids recognize it than HL. So, it's nothing insightful that probably both, Half-Life 3 (PC gamers & veterans) and Left 4 Dead 3 (console gamers & teens), might be used as extremely powerful promotional mixture, to push their new big thing, Steam Box, which will be basically a PC/console hybrid for hardcore gaming and living room media delivery.
yeah they were giving hl2 with that coupon
in 2010 this guy got Portal http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1442540
I'd rather see Source 2 stuff before I saw anything about HL3. Left 4 Dead 3 maybe.
why do you want l4d3? just wait for l4d4 one year later
whatever they'll show, it will be dota 2 and steam related
dota 2 is releasing before the major international tournament. doubt it.
