How I think the Combine Rebel War turned out based on the Portal 2 ending (SPOILERS) - Games

[sp]New ending: Chell turns around, facing the field. The shot cuts to her reaching the end of the field, where she sees a ancient wreckage of a city, where some massive battle took place hundreds of years ago. Suddenly, thousands of zombified Combine and rebels smash through the wreckage, sprinting at full speed towards Chell. She turns around to run, only to find a zombified Gordon Freeman in her path. She raises the Companion Cube, since it's the only heavy object she's got on hand. The cutscene ends, as we switch to a Nazi-Zombies-like survival mode, with a zombified G-Man as the final boss. **CO-OP SPOILERS AHEAD** After this battle (however it ends) you get a cutscene of GLaDOS awaking the several thousand humans in stasis that the 'bots located. They get out of their stasis chambers, only to reveal that they've all been zombified. They proceed to utterly destroy the Aperture Science facility. The camera goes black just as we see the reactor going into meltdown from the damage. Then we cut to a scene of Lamarr in a massive control center, sitting in an oversized chair, watching several screens of the incidents unfolding. Rebels won and drove back Combine All we saw was a fucking wheat field, we can't reach many conclusions with that.

They were already severely drained by the Combine by 202X[/sp]

Portal 2 takes place a hundred (even 200) years in the future, it's pretty obvious the whole world wasn't destroyed. What did you expect?

It's we don't know. From the evidence found in the game it could suggest that Portal 2 begins around the time Gordon Freeman exits stasis for Half Life 2.
