Thanks to Zymiily for creating this banner! Readme:eng101:
This is a facepunch-only 1v1 aim_redline tournament. It's open for everyone, and I hope as many people as possible join! The map has only AK-47 and a deagle. You spawn with the gun out, 1 sec freezetime and then GOGO. The match is a MR15 match, meaning first to 16 points. If tie, a complete rematch at a later time or overtime are the only two options. If both of the players agree overtime, it is overtime. If one of them cannot play an overtime at that very time, a re-match must be dated. Servers Feel free to use freegamehosting.nl. Here is a list of console commands you need to type in console after the server is up: rcon_password (password) rcon map aim_redline rcon exec esl4on4_5on5.cfg rcon mp_freezetime 1 rcon sv_cheats 0 If BOTH players agree to play on the server (ping and server-lag is the only acceptable excuse, also tickrate MUST be 128) the match is started. Use rcon mp_restartgame 5 (this restarts the game after 5 seconds, to make sure both players are ready) to start the game. Killervalon has a server ready for use! A huge thanks to him! Dates The tournament will end it's registration process by 12th May, and the matches should start at 14th of May. Everyone must to their very best to play as many matches as fast as possible! Rules Don't use public chat in any abusive way. This includes: * Using it more than 1 time pr. round * Continuing to use it after opponent has asked you to shut up, no matter how unpolitely * Binding a key to spam the chat What is allowed to say? * After a round, NS or WP is fine. Stay polite! * GL HF in the beginning, or a different version * Polite talk before the match starts * GG/GG WP/WP when the game is over. Link to map please? http://csgo.gamebanana.com/maps/167856 What is NOT legal?? Any hack, any kind of cheat. That's it really, in addition to what I've written about the chat. Also, 64 tick servers are illegal to use in this tournament!
HFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFHFH LIVE! Link to bracket: http://challonge.com/aimfacepunch How do I play? Game specific rules:
Okay, so this is how it's done (correct me if I'm wrong OP). You contact your opponent. You agree on a time. The time will be mentioned to OP. (If my server, if not mine then other deals are made). The password will be changed to make sure only you two can join, and hopefully either me or OP can check if anything goes wrong (by looking when it's going on) When the game is ready to begin - you both start recording using console (record DEMONAME) Afterwards the game will be started using mp_restartgame when both contestants are ready. When the game is over, the demos will be sent and the score will be put on Challonge.
All available serverside .dems: http://uploads.killervalon.me/facepu...tournament1v1/
Looking forward to playing, about what skill level are you guys? I would say I'm somewhat above average. [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] I don't understand how to sign up on the challonge, do you have to add me to the list or something? In that case go ahead and add me.
Count me in

Mixed up! You find facepunchers within every range of skill, except very high I think. :=) About the signup, I found the problem. Try this link: http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/NSEnuVN3wt [editline]1st May 2013[/editline]
Count me in
Ah, good to see you!
Damn ima have 100+ ms then. Will try anyways. Shouldnt hurt much [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] Can non fp'ers join?
Can non fp'ers join?
No, but if you know any non-FPer, invite them. I want every competitor to be a part of facepunch, as they are easier to communicate with then basically. Also, threads are only visible to members I think? I might change this rule though.
So say i give no fucks about ping(reasonably like as long as im not over 200) and im in NA could i still join
So say i give no fucks about ping(reasonably like as long as im not over 200) and im in NA could i still join
No, because it's a pain for your enemy too.
Bracket is now double elimination, not groups to single elim.
Can wait for this. Is there a link to map
Can wait for this. Is there a link to map
Yeah it would be great if you could get us a link for the map, I looked around a little but I couldn't find what I though was the right version of it.
I can upload the "official" version I want to use in the tournament. Good idea :v: [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] http://csgo.gamebanana.com/maps/167856 Yep, pretty damn sure it's this one. I'll double check asap. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] Yeah, fix'd
Can you explain double elimination?
Basically, if you lose, you will be put up against different people who also lost: When you lose your first match, you are put in the losers bracket, and the second match you lose, you'r out. Edit: The seeding system is made using Google docs, so please fill it out. All participants

Try contacting the owner of the form if you think this is a mistake.
Thanks for the information, fix'd!
Registered. Even though I'm not great it'll be fun to play around with some fp'ers
Registered. Even though I'm not great it'll be fun to play around with some fp'ers
Yeah, also remeber that the more people like you who join, the greater chance you have for winning a few matches :) The seeding system will also make sure that you'r not going to get 16-0ed in the first few matches...

How do I lose? [sp]No but really, this map is a bit strange and it feels like it's built for 2v2. I just tried it against bots and that's not very good practice. I only saw one server with the map running and that was locked[/sp]

And it works perfectly fine for 1v1, me and userman has played 1v1 on it with eachother many times :D

I only saw one server with the map running and that was locked[/sp]
I can send IP to a semi-popular server running it 24/7. Far from my favorite aim map, but its architecture makes creative play doable, like hiding and so on. It's not as fun as aim_map, but the free game server hosting service freegamehosting.nl does not have that map. I might change this next time I make a tournament.
Thanks, signed up.
Glad to see more people joining :)
Signed up :)
Great to see more people signing up, we are now 10 guys!
Great to see more people signing up, we are now 10 guys!
Not that I expect it, but for future sakes learn to write people / peeps instead [del]when do we start anyways and[/del] who is going to host? I can do some of it but you have to warn me ahead. I still haven't laid cable from my room to office so the server is in my room and it's a bit noisy for everyday uptime. (Is 40-50mbit upload good enough for CS? :v:)

The plan was that people who wanted to play could set up their own server using freegamehosting.nl, a great server hosting site.
I don't trust people who do stuff for free. [sp]And don't have a good reputation[/sp] I highly doubt their tickrate. But someone else can probaly tell me how high they have.
