So I was playing Portal 2, y'know the chamber when you catch a glimpse of P-body. I noclipped where he is, i can walk right through him... I wanted to do something in the console like npc_create npc_pbody, decompiled it into Alien Swarm SDK, and found evidence in a logic thing with something called "eggbot" I am wondering if he actually has a real NPC, or is it just one of VALVe's animated effects (you can walk right through him...).
I'd like to know the NPC name if it exists, thanks!
P-Body is not technically considered a NPC but you can mess around with him as a Bot.
Its actually a animation on her model.
Not thread worthy. Technically it is an NPC in the literal sense of the acronym but it isn't a NPC like a headcrab in Half Life.
Its Gabe, He has some backdoors which he can personally get into peoples games, and use a co-op model for his character.
He basically runs around hiding, watching peoples progress.

If you haven't figured it out yet, P-Body is a girl.

Quit making a huge deal about it.

No she isn't. While I agree that P-body should be referred to as a "she" I don't agree with the statement "P-body is a girl" because she isn't. She's a genderless machine programmed to be feminine, which is different. GLaDOS isn't a girl either, though GLaDOS is a character we're all so familiar with that we automatically call her a "she." Technically you could say GLaDOS is a girl though because [sp]part of her is Caroline, who is an actual human.[/sp]

Well if P-Body is feminine at least refer to it as her as she is feminine not masculine.

And what about Wheatley?
And what about Wheatley?
"He."
Atlas is as much as a woman as P-Body
Refer to all objects that one has an affection to as 'she' (in the same way a captain refers to his or her ship or personaly vehicle of choice). Refer to all objects that harbor masculine or threatening traits as 'he'. Anything else is 'it'.
That's how I do it, bro. So far it's worked.
*Silently watches as one little gender related comment turned into a mass derailing.*
Could the "Eggbot" Thing be for that one part of single player where you see pbody run off?
P-Body is not NPC !!!
NPC stands for Non-PLAYBLE-Character.
And you can control it in Co-Op

They meant in Single Player.
But no, it's like the other guy said. A prop_dynamic using P-Body's player model with a running animation. Very simple to create in Hammer really

eggbot = P-Body
It's a robot, it lacks sex definition. Fuck off.
If P-Body is a robot, shouldn't we be using 'it'?
