Does anyone remember this game? One of the most underrated RTS games ever made. DEMO HERE: http://sloik.ezwebtogo.com/downloads/Machines/machinesdemo.exe Copypasta from wiki: "Machines is a 3D real-time strategy game released for the PC. Published by Acclaim and developed by Charybdis, Machines was one of the first 3D games of this genre. It was also one of the first to incorporate a first-person mode, in which players can personally control any Machine in their army in a first-person mode. Machines uses a 3D polygonal landscape, which players can use to their advantage, attacking from or hiding behind hilltops. The viewpoint can be switched between a default isometric, strategic 'zenith' camera, and first person perspective; the latter typically being used to explore buildings during espionage missions. 50 different machines can be researched and built, including Commandants, Flying Machines, Spies, Armored Personnel Carries and Reapers. Battalions can be developed with specific strengths to support a personalized fighting strategy. The game also includes 25 different weapons, including Flame-throwers, Vortex Singularities, Plasma Rifles, Ion Cannons and Nukes. Sabotage and espionage missions allow units to deposit mines inside enemy buildings, steal research, and pass back vital information." Anyone still got this game? It's brilliant! For user mods and a great community website, go to: http://wiredforwar.org/ http://forums.wiredforwar.org This community is also in development of Machines 2, which will hopefully come out sooner or later You can also download the game from this website (It isn't warez because you can't actually get the game anymore Reply to this thread if anyone is up for a game via hamachi, or feel free to PM me. I believe this is one of the best RTS games out there. With so much to research and build, it very rarely gets boring.
I remember this game, I absolutely loved it! Tried my best to find it again, but never could.
Yes, I still have it on my computer. Great game.
I remember this game, I absolutely loved it! Tried my best to find it again, but never could.
Take a look on the site I linked. I think you can buy it off there.
Does anybody have another site we could get it from? I don't feel like getting involved with a community for a game I haven't even tried yet.
This is the most underrated RTS ever as he said. This is my all-time favourite game to be honest. But I only got to play the demo :(
Check the website mate :) If anyone wants a game, post in this thread. We could get a few games going sometime.
this was my first rts :O
Check the website mate :) If anyone wants a game, post in this thread. Which means getting involved with their community for a game that I'm not allowed to have yet. Or I'm not looking hard enough.
Yeah it's what you said, but I'm sure you can find the demo around somewhere. Edit: Found it! http://sloik.ezwebtogo.com/downloads/Machines/machinesdemo.exe Enjoy :)
The unit graphics aren't too awesome, but I am kinda impressed by the smoothness of the weapon tracers. Are the weapons really "collision based" like in RTS, so units are sometimes able to dodge them? I always searched for RTS with this feature... Somebody please post it. As you know it is not warez anymore, and i don't want to post on some forum about totally unknown game to get it. Just upload it on Rapidshare or somewhere.

The letter/number bottrap puzzle to register isn't loading, not even the sound version! I really want this game, but have no way to tell them about the broken registration BECAUSE of the broken registration! EDIT: Never mind. found a mirror
isnt machines abandonware? i thought that Acclaim went out of business like ten years ago. if so, then please can you paste me a direct download link so i dont have to jump through the wired for war forums hoops?
Oh man I still have the original discs for this game, Its definitely a very underrated rts game and one of my favorites. All of the files needed to run this game , and the files for the game can be found here: http://forums.wiredforwar.org/index.php?topic=1609.0 under the "External Machines Disc Downloads" section.
