Minor, but fun little Half-Life detail I noticed. (Possible Spoilers)

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**
I noticed something during the beginning of Half-Life that may show a very small detail connecting it with Half-Life 2. In Episode 2, after Alyx tells Eli to "Prepare For Unforeseen Consequences" He mentions to Gordon that their "mutual friend" told him the same thing just before Gordon entered the test chamber. Well as you walk through Black Mesa during the beginning of Half-Life, you can see the G-Man talking with an African-American Scientist. The G-man mentions in Episode 2 how he "Plucked" Alyx from Black Mesa. So could this be him telling Eli that he has plans for daughter?
I'm not trying to say that "Oh, he's a black guy, he MUST be Eli Vance." I just think this could be another little touch Valve has thrown into it's games.
When will these darn forsaken speculation threads that don't deserve a thread stop being posted?

It's not a "little touch". It pretty obvious that's what happened, and Eli is also the same black scientist who told you to take the tram line to the surface.
I seriously doubt they had it planned out when they were making HL1 but they might retrospectively intend that the scientist you see is Eli
The scientist you see talking to gman and the one you see with the hurt scientist that tells you to go find the trams are the same person, Eli. By plucked, gman means he saved alyx from black mesa as the whole vance family lived in the facility.
also, the scientist in the room with Gman is randomized, while the one helping the injured one is always black.
old as ma grandma
Yeah the "Our computers were never meant to do this in the first place!" Scientist right before you enter the cahmber is Eli and the other guy might be Kliner. Apparently when Eli was escaping a bull squid ate his leg.
While that may be explain his leg, I wish they would of explained why there were no bull squids in retail HL2. I mean, if they were not going to use them and the other HL1 aliens by the time they got to Episode One, the very least they could of verified if they were still around or not in the story.
However, that scene where your about to be eaten by Ichthyosaur because of the teleporting problem, I wonder if it would of been better to use a bull squid instead, simply so players could reminisce about HL1.
I knew this was going to be a bullshit thread when I clicked it, but I didn't expect that much failure.

Combine killed most of them within all the places we went in HL2 and the Episodes, but that doesn't mean they're all gone.

where have you been?

C17 could be explained by the metro police killing them all, and the fact that they are so large it would be hard for them not to go un-noticed while running around in the sewers/streets.
Not much explanation for outside C17 though, unless maybe the forest environment isn't suitable for bullsquids.
Still, it would of been great if these enemies were in GM and even spawnable this way:

I came into the thread thinking you were going to mention that chapter 2 in Half Life is called "Unforseen Consequences" , but ok you just came up with something completely random
Sewers in hl2 is the only level that I could imagine for bullsquids. The rest don't feel like their environment seeing as in hl1 they are mainly near toxic waste

Well, I can easily imagine them in sewers, but there could be a chance for them to be in the City 17 underground or certain sections of the Antlion Caves.
