As you can see, this forum can ([i]should[/i]) be replaced with a portal forum, as there was (I'm pretty sure) a Left4Dead section before the sequel was released, and now we're in the same situation, with Portal 2 getting new videos and information every day.

Portal section can piss off, no one besides a select few people stayed with Portal since 07 in the first place and I dont see it going anywhere even with Portal 2.

-Retarded Youtube videos
-People over hyping tiny updates in hopes of a major update
-Hat threads

That's really not helping our case, honestly. The difficulty of modding for L4D(2) makes mods much rarer, and so that thread is all but dead.

Pretty much this, there's no real reason for it to be removed, let alone replaced. If you want a Portal subforum I'm not against that. It just shouldn't be allowed to replace the L4D subforum.

This is the same argument theyve had about the general gaming discussion sub forums (Red Dead, Lost Cause, etc) some people argued there were too many, soon people started arguing that there should be a sub forum for [b] their[/b] favorite game, then garry just said fuck it and got rid of all of them, and now some whine that they miss the subforums.

I apologize if I think Portal is an amazing and wholly remarkable game, and believe Portal 2 will be more of the same, and more.

Portal is indeed a great game, but I would just have to take a guess here and say the playerbase for the Left 4 Dead series is much larger than Portal. I know they're two totally different games but due to the replayability and moddability that Left 4 Dead has it's probably more worthy of a section than Portal.

Even saying that though I'm still unsure because right now Left 4 Dead is sort of in a state of emptiness since nobody has anything to discuss about it, but in about a month when the new DLC is released I'm sure activity will rise in it again.

Id disagree, at least on FP there are more fans of portal than of Left 4 Dead because we've all become so damn bored of it! And of course theres more to discuss about portal than L4D, even if there is DLC

Yeah I wasn't entirely comfortable with what I said because Portal ( especially Portal 2, being new and unreleased still ) is probably a bit more worthy of discussion.

But still, as for removing the Left 4 Dead section, that would be a bit harsh and useless, I would have to say just keep it and add a Portal section.
