• FPS's with good singleplayer AND multiplayer?

So, I don't have internet on my XBOX right now, but definitely will by the end of the year, so I figured I would get a few games with good multiplayer, and good singleplayer to tide me over until then. The games have to have good gameplay in SP AND MP. Story isn't major but it's always a plus. I was thinking Halo: Reach, but I've never been a big Halo fan. I even went through a phase of hating it, but I would be willing to give it a try if the singleplayer wasn't just absolute garbage. (I'm 99% certain the multiplayer is good or it wouldn't have such a big following)
Mw2 :downs:
Crysis.
MW2 has good singleplayer and multiplayer.
Alright, enough of the 'hurr durr mw2 :downs:', I was looking for actual opinions. :saddowns:
Oh, Xbox games... Uhh... MW2 is the only thing I can think of.
MW2 is your safest bet.
Halo Reach
Xbro doesn't have any truly good games. MW2 is the closet; singleplayer is somewhat fun, even if the story sucks and the gameplay is unoriginal. Multiplayer reminds me a lot of Quake; it's usually fast-paced. Other than the customizable weapons, it even has rocket launchers and power-ups (killstreaks).
MW2 has a decent Singleplayer (Not storywise though), and the multiplayer is addicting, though Activision really fucked up in that regard. Maybe Bad Company 2 too. [editline]02:15AM[/editline] Now that I think of it, I can't think of that many games with good singleplayer/multiplayer.
MW2 is really fun if you want to hop in by yourself at any time and just play. BC2 is awesome if you have a friend or two with the game that you can play with
Good luck.
Gears of War
MW2 has good singleplayer, and if you have friends to play with good Multiplayer
Minecraft.
Arma 2 and/or Operation Arrowhead. While the stories and voice acting aren't triple-A material, the campaigns of both games have huge, open missions where you're left to your own devices to complete your objectives. You're pretty much given some notes, a helicopter and some artillery support and then turned loose in the world. It's really an amazing thing. What'll really keep you hooked, though, is the editor The multiplayer side is largely co-op based, but besides co-op (throughout the campaign, I might add), there are also huge take-the-island scenarios, gamemodes that transform the game into a real time strategy, gamemodes that are essentially life simulations, and traditional deathmatches. The flexibility of the editor means there's something for everyone, really. It's quite a beast to get into, but it's really rewarding when you do. [editline]8:58PM[/editline] Both games (Arrowhead is a standalone expansion) have demos, but you should know that the Arma 2 demo's performance is much worse than the retail game. I'm not sure about Operation Arrowhead, but retail Arma 2 runs much better, thanks to frequent patches.
I stand by both suggestions of Minecraft and ARMA 2 in this thread. Also Crysis has pretty solid singleplayer and good mod support but the multiplayer is lacking. Do NOT get MW2 or BC2.
Did all three of you miss the part where he said Xbox?
Call of Duty 4
Did all three of you miss the part where he said Xbox?
He said his Xbox didn't have an internet connection. He didn't say he only wanted Xbox games suggested. :colbert:

I don't really like Halo much anymore but Halo: Reach is fun, especially with a few mates.
He said his Xbox didn't have an internet connection. He didn't say he only wanted Xbox games suggested. :colbert:
Oh shit, I didn't think of that. I just kind of assumed that he only wanted Xbox games.
I thought it was implied that I wanted XBOX only games, sorry. I DO only want XBOX games.

CoD 4.
BC2 and MW2 both have horrible singleplayers and meh multiplayers, although I found BC2 a lot less meh.
Why not...? Have you ever played it?
MW2 and BC2 have not lasted me as long as Minecraft or Arma 2. [editline]9:17PM[/editline] :pcgaming: [editline]9:18PM[/editline] I mean, they're decent games overall, but they're blockbusters. They're not as interesting as some other games. I mean, look at those videos in my earlier post. Shit's intense. On another topic, I also suggest Minecraft. :buddy: Don't need an uber-PC to enjoy it. [editline]9:35PM[/editline] I feel like I suggest this for every thread, but have you played Psychonauts? It's an Xbox original title, no multiplayer but it's quite an amazing singleplayer. I recommend it highly.
Counter-Strike has an amazing singleplayer.
Oh Xbox ? All I read was the thread title. Halo then.
