• E3 2011: Sorry, No Half-Life

According to IGN, Valve won't be showing any games this year at E3, especially not Half-Life.
Valve -- best known for developing the critically acclaimed Half-Life series -- revealed via a press release that Half-Life will not make an appearance at E3 2011. In fact, no Valve games will be there. According to Doug Lombardi, Valve's VP of Marketing, media outlets needn't make any E3 appointments because "[Valve is] not showing any titles at this year's show. So no appointment is needed." Well then. It should be noted that Valve's message refers specifically to media demos, so technically the publisher could make an announcement at one of the big press conferences, or reveal a trailer.
http://pc.ign.com/articles/116/1169063p1.html I guess it's alright they are taking their time, but this has been going for far too long now. I want to see some Half-Life already. :eng99:
Jesus christ, get on with it Valve.
Really not surprised.
And I just beat all the games in chronological order. :saddowns:
"It should be noted that Valve's message refers specifically to media demos, so technically the publisher could make an announcement at one of the big press conferences, or reveal a trailer." don't give up hope yet

SURPRISE But really, You actually expected a new Half-Life title when theres a new Valve game around the corner?

I expected to see DOTA 2.
Hey, Guy's. This is Valve, don't give up!
You never know with Valve. I won't believe anything until E3 is over.
But seriously, I don't expect Valve to continue Half Life until next year.
Guys chill, they just say that there won't be any media demos. You guys forgot Portal 2? They could do the same thing.
:smithicide: OH WAIT, I FORGOT! This isn't surprising. At all. This is fucking Valve after all, just because they released Portal 2 recently doesn't mean they've changed.
I expected to see DOTA 2.
Does anyone really care about this?
i'm not suprised, though
Does anyone really care about this?
I do, I like the gameplay of HoN and LoL so I expect valve to do much better.
SURPRISE But really, You actually expected a new Half-Life title when theres a new Valve game around the corner?
Valve is a big developer. They do multiple things at once.
Valve is a big developer. They do multiple things at once.
And they take a long time doing those multiple things. Let's look at their history, TF2 was released more than 6 years after it was announced. (Yes, the time was worth it but that's beside the point)
GOD DAMN IT Really Valve? We've been waiting for fucking 3 years, please for the love of god just give us some piece of information about it at the very least.
GOD DAMN IT Really Valve? We've been waiting for fucking 3 years, please for the love of god just give us some piece of information about it at the very least.
Yeah, its come to the point where whenever someone mentions E3 I say "maybe Valve will unveil Episode 3 this year" and then I burst out laughing.
Remember when Portal 2 was canceled for e3? This means nothing
Six years already, what's another one gonna hurt?
Remember when Portal 2 was canceled for e3? This means nothing
first time i hate someone optimistic because he's actually optimistic. but then i saw your pony avatar and i guess you take it both ways. [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] (i made a joke on how you took the optimistic rating both ways but also directly attacked your sexual orientation by stating that you are bisexual)
If this happened: "Ladies and gentleman, the news you've all been waiting for.. May I present to you.. MEET THE MEDIC!" I'll :Dawkins102: in terms of being a fan of Valve.
Remember when Portal 2 was canceled for e3? This means nothing
They DID say there'd be a surprise though when that happened.

I wasn't expecting any half life 3 content but I was expecting at least dota 2. Heck, I would probably guess the f-stop game would be released before half life 3.
