Dedicated is hosted on your computer, non dedicated is hosted on a server
Dedicated is hosted on your computer, non dedicated is hosted on a server
Other way around.
A listen server is hosted by a client, so the host has to play to game to host. A dedicated server is a separate piece of software that runs the server without playing it as well.
Dedicated implies that the server is dedicated to the task of running the game/program or what have you, non-dedicated means the server has other uses, such as a workstation PC that you do other things on. You're evil Tuskin.
what's the diference? -"well what the difference be, one is a job and the other is mental sickness!"
I thought dedicated was a specific server being used to host a single gaming server, or one which was over-powered for its use, like a premium option. Called "Dedicated Game Server Hosting" And then other servers where you'd be sharing one storage space with many gamingservers, which are cheaper. Called "Shared Game Server Hosting" And then the epic fail, where you host a server on your local PC. And why are you rating him dumb? Its a perfect ably understandable question, but he coulda googled it.
