I got a bit of a decision to make. I'm tossing up between Men of War, DoW2 or Hearts of Iron 3 (when it's released on steam) I've played men of war and it was pretty good. DoW i'm not so sure about because I have the first one and I didn't like it that much (although for some reason I liked CoH a lot even though it's also made by relic) and Hearts of Iron I've never played. If you own any of these games (Hearts of Iron 2, cause 3 isn't out yet) can you tell me if they're worth buying? If I was to get DoW2 I wanna get it ASAP so I can buy it from the steam sale. Thanks in advance
Play the DOW2 demo and try to get it.
I would recommend DoW2 if you like CoH because they are very similar.

Men of War is more like CoH, it's pretty much a more realistic version of it.
DoWII is like a watered down CoH. Still a good game though.
Hearts of Iron is good if you like the realism and challenges of running a nation-state. It's far more complex than your regular RTS but it's pretty much the only good WWII game that manages to cover everything from the Second Sino-Japanese War to the landing operations of Sicily.
Men of War is more of a tactical game than Company of Heroes (no building structures that pump out tanks) and certainly more realistic. Armored vehicles can be disabled in many different ways and you can even do things like open fire on an open top assault gun below you and take control of it. There's a hell a lot of micromanagement for the infantry, but aren't all real-time strategy games about microing the fuck out of everything?
I'd recommend DOW2 if your into quick thinking and small unit tactics and Men of War for more planned out battles and craftiness. DOW2 = Fast Paced, Men of War = Slower paced
I'm kinda leaning away from DoW2 because it seems like it's quite watered down and too similar to CoH. I was only really drawn to it in the first place because of the sale. Hearts of Iron I have no idea about, I'll have to learn more. Men of war seems the most likely choice, but I'll look up some more info on HoI.
I would say Men of War, I haven't yet played it but I have heard good things about it, it is definitely tactically oriented.
As long time CoH fan, who recently acquired Men of War, and has played DoW 2, I can tell you that DoW 2 is simplified CoH, everything is dumbed down, for example there is only one kind of suppression, as opposed to five in CoH. The factions play like the OF factions, all blobbing and stupid game mechanics.
I would heartily reccommend MoW, although I would caution you that is is fairly different to CoH, MoW is an RTT, while CoH is an RTS. Unit preservation, while important in CoH, is EVERYTHING in MoW, as you tend to have fairly few men, and losing any will almost certainly cost you the game in multiplayer, as any advantage tends to snowball quickly. Furthermore, while CoH is pretty polished, MoW is very very rough around the edges, you do tend to wrestle with the UI a bit when trying to get things done.
Get the Dow expansion packs, the original is rather boring but get dark crusade and winter assault.
Men of fudge War.
Men of War, hands down
Starcraft!! oh from that list? Meh i have not tryed any of them because i play starcraft.
i'd recommend C&C: The First Decade, 12 games in one pack.
