• I'm scared to run Metro 2033

To start things off, this isn't in the megathread because support questions never get answered in megathreads (in my experience). So recently i upgraded my computer to a dual core cpu and a 9800gt, so i thought this would be the perfect time to fire up metro 2033 as it ran just a bit sluggish on my 8400GS, so it should run fine on my 9800gt, and it did. I played metro 2033 for a good hour or so for 2 days, then on the 3rd day, i get into the start up menu fine, click the button to continue from my last save, it loads fine, but when the loading screen says "press any key to continue", without me pressing anything, it throws itself into a "Frequency out of range" screen, the HF and RF (i think it's RF, i'm not sure) are both over 200. I've gotten that screen before in other games (i've never had the HF and RF at or even around 200 though), usually i can alt tab out of it and close the game using task manager, worst case scenario i restart the computer and everything is fine. However this time, alt+tab doesn't work, and when i restart the computer it goes into the "Out of Frequency" screen right at boot up, so i am essentially locked out of my computer till i go into safe mode, uninstall video drivers, then reinstall them. That's the only thing that works and i've done it 4 times now. I'm running it all at low settings, desktop resolution (1152x864, lol CRT monitor). I don't think it has anything to do with my hardware, considering it worked before without any different settings.
First off, try Google. I've found about 4 results. You may need to try re-installing the latest video drivers. Failing that, just get a new monitor. I think it's the monitor, not the computer.
Get a real fucking monitor, it's 2010.
99% chance the game is defaulting to a Resolution and Refresh Rate your monitor cannot handle. Either try playing around in the games config files and setting them to read only, or like said, get a nice cheap 19 Inch LCD.

Yes, I have tried google, they have all said how to get back into my computer, but none of them have said how to make the game playable. Yes, i have the latest drivers. Okay, i will look into a new monitor, i just like the sexy clarity the CRT gives, all the lcd's i've seen have way worse clarity and color depth that my 9 year old CRT has, but maybe i'm just looking in the wrong places for LCD's.
