amazing
OK, I think I've decided. I'll install FOOK, MMM, EVE, and a couple smaller ones that strike my fancy.

Also. eventually someone's gonna tell you to use [url=http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=637]FO3Edit[/url] to make a 'Merged Patch' Don't listen to them. Download FO3Edit definitely, but only use it for the 'Master Update' function, and for the merged patch, use the infinitely superior [url=http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11336]garybash[/url]. FO3edit's merged patch feature fixes some critical issues and stops their related crashes, sure, but garybash's 'Bashed Patch' feature does that in addition to stopping basically all random crashes that you might experience. It's fucking great.

Also, this one

Oh cool, thanks.

What about FOIP for merge patches?

I'm amazed that anyone can play with this bodytype. I personally use the bodysuits from lings finer things because they don't look horrifying.

Any of this guy's quest mods. Some interesting puzzles, good but still somewhat balanced rewards, and interesting locations. Do note that there are no quest markers for most of them, and there's a lot of "locked" doors that need some kind of puzzle completed on a terminal
[QUOTE=Generic_Monk;25051256]Don't get FOOK it's a piece of shit, get FWE instead. And use FOIP.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, FOOK is pretty bad. Buggy as hell, prone to crashes, and all it does is add a bunch of lore-unfriendly shit (Mr. T cereal, Doraemon t-shirts, etc).
OK, I installed FWE, MMM, EVE (and all relevant FOIP merge patches), Fellout, Darnified UI, and Ultimate Perk Pack. Now I just need to make a bashed patch with garybash. How do I do this?
[editline]01:38AM[/editline]
I'm crashing at the menu, even though BOSS-F has sorted everything properly.
[QUOTE=JoeSibilant;25051108]is FOOK compatible with MMM?[/QUOTE]
There is a mod called FallOut Incompatibility Program (FOIP) that consists in taking the best mods of Fallout 3 and make them fully Compatible.
This mods has two advantages : it allows you good compatibility and it gives you a list of rather good mods.
Mods you should download :
- Desert theme
- EVE
- FELLOUT
- Martigen's Mutant Mod (MMM)
- Alternate Start - Roleplayers

Shit, my FO3 is crashing on startup, even when it's completely vanilla. Help?
[QUOTE=JoeSibilant;25066488]Shit, my FO3 is crashing on startup, even when it's completely vanilla. Help?[/QUOTE]
Make a backup of your data folder and reinstall the game.
I already did. It's totally vanilla. I also did the ffdshow disabling thing, and it still crashes on "Please Stand By."
[QUOTE=JoeSibilant;25066488]Shit, my FO3 is crashing on startup, even when it's completely vanilla. Help?[/QUOTE]
Delete the Fallout 3 folder in Documents > My Games.
IT WORKED! Now to activate the game...
Product key invalid? I HAVEN'T EVEN ENTERED IT YET YOU STUPID MACHINE.
[editline]09:42AM[/editline]
Oh, it's letting me enter it now.
[editline]09:44AM[/editline]
Now to try it with mods...
[editline]10:03AM[/editline]
Aaaand it's broken again. Same problem as last time:
It launches, still plays the opening promos, but when it gets to the main menu no buttons show up (just a blank picture of a dude in power armor) and tabbing out reveals that it has crashed.
[editline]10:05AM[/editline]
Disabled all mods and still launched through FOMM, it worked. So one of these mods is breaking the shit out of my game...
[editline]10:12AM[/editline]
OK, so turns out FWE is breaking my game.
[editline]10:14AM[/editline]
Or maybe it was just one optional for FWE...
Get BOSS too, it helps with load orders and shit.
[url]http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10193[/url]
Already using BOSS, but thanks. I did find the problem though!
The FOIP merge patch for EVE and FWE Master file breaks the game. I wonder if I can just go without it...
[editline]10:21AM[/editline]
Never mind, I just needed to use the Follower Enhanced one. :downs:
[editline]12:09PM[/editline]
Hooray! Everything works! DarnUI is a bit on the small side though, and unlike the Oblivion version, I don't see a way to scale it up in the menu.
