Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (Any Good)

Hey, I was considering getting this game as it spiked my interest following being featured in the "What PC Gamer are playing now" section and was wondering if anyone could inquire into the quality of the game before I get it. It's the survival horror by Bethesda Softworks on the PC, if there is more than one.
Thanks in advance guys.
It's almost completely broken. There's a 50/50 chance you'll need a trainer during the finale to increase your movement speed because of a glitch. Many of the systems are flawed and hardly work.
If you can get past this, you'll get a glimpse of which is a decent game with potential.
T'is a pretty good game in my opinion. Atmosphere was nice.
Then again, I am a fucking moron so eh.
One guy ported it from the Xbox to the PC.
That is all you need to know.
I wrote a review of it a while back.

I don't know what you're talking about. I've completed the whole game without any trainers.
This game is awesome too. I really liked it.
I said 50/50. If someone disliking a game lowers your reading comprehension you should get checked out
It's pretty damn sweet. Only ruined by Craig Sechler's voice acting. (If you've played Oblivion.)
It's a really great game for fans of the Cthulhu stuff, like me. The athmosphere is great!
For the record, DCOTE is one of my favorite horror games ever.
Great atmosphere, story, immersive gameplay and some of the most thrilling moments I've ever experienced in video games.
Also, the story isn't just a weak lovecraftian adaptation like in most games, (Amnesia, I'm looking at you.) but rather, is based on an actual H.P. Lovecraft novel, The Shadow Over Innsmouth. So I'll definitely recommend it for the story alone.
Is it scarier then amnesia?
No, really only the first two levels are scary. The rest just has decent atmosphere.
I heard that towards the end it devolves into a shooter. Is this true? :ohdear:

More or less, I mean, you're using somekind of firearm pretty much all the way throughout the game, except the very first levels, but at the end, you'll just encounter more enemies than usual.
To me it's just logical considering that you're invading their "lair".
This didn't disturb me the slightest however, because the levels remain interesting throughout and at the end I was already so sold on the game's story that I just wanted to see how it concludes.
It's definetely worth playing. I enjoyed it, the atmosphere, the story, pretty much everything.
