When I'm playing Men of War, which I bought from the STEAM sale, my ping is enormous, no matter which server I join. When I try to host a server, it always hosts on 'local host'. I've also yet to get into a game where anyone is talking English.
Am I doing something wrong? Are there ports I need to open or something? Help, please!
Dunno about the ping thing, but the game was made by a Ukrainian company, so that would explain the lack of English if it's main circulation was in Eastern Europe.
Would anyone want to play with me sometime?
'Main circulation' no, 'seemingly very popular there' yes.
Multiplayer is probably best with friends if you don't want to play with Eastern Europeans or something and I'd imagine the ping could be just to do with your internet connection.
Well there are loads of Russians and East Europeans, so English speakers are hard to find. For the latencies, most servers are like the players, East Europeans. So if you are from the US, Australia, or anywhere outside Europe the pings won't be that great.
The best thing to do is organize matches with FP'ers or friends. Or just play with random people, I don't speak Russian but I usually play with random anyway.
