[img_thumb]http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/2043/logostorfix.png[/img_thumb] LittleBigPlanet is quite a different game compared to all of the first person shooters and puzzlers out in the market. Being my favorite platformer game it can also (If manipulated enough and using layer tricks) can create the illusion of three dimensions. The games motto/Catchphrase being Play, create and share, because of the unique game play and level building layout. All though on the outside it may seem childish, it is a very great game for all ages. The official website Protagonists Sackboy/girl [img_thumb]http://i.thisislondon.co.uk/i/pix/2008/10/sackboy1_415x275.jpg[/img_thumb] On the LittleBigPlanet you’re a little Sack Person like this one here. Sackboy (or girl) is the fun little character that will share your adventures on LittleBigPlanet. One of the things that makes Sackboy so special is that he can be customised to look as stylish and sexy as you’d like him to look, or just plain weird. You’ll collect all kinds of clothing and things to dress him up with as you explore the world, and you can buy extra special ones from the PSN store too. Take a look at some of the costumes, and learn more about Sackboy. Antagonists [sp]The Collector[/sp] [sp]A small man, around the size of sackboy who you can normally see flying around in his machine stealing things. Only once a level per chapter you can see him. Not much light has been shed on him, only that he is very dependant on his machines. At the end he is found that he is stealing because he just wanted friends, and is offered by the king and the other creaters to join them in the LBP community, in a cheefull ending that didn't seem like it was going to end well.[/sp] Play. The story mode, consisting of places ranging from [sp]the king's tranquil gardens to the harsh tundra,[/sp] also has a very nice story mode. Media Molecule's unique art style leaves all of the tricks in plain sight, no hidden switches, triggers or anything. If you become bored of finish story mode, you can go check out the community levels, a place where everyone can show off their new creations and even new story lines! Create. The game's included developer kit allows you to release your built up creativity into a level others can play on, if you decide to publish it of course. Playing through the story mode will gift you with more things to build with, such as materials and switches. Share. The LittleBigPlanet community is full of sacks just like you, wanting to see and play the creativity of others. The thousands of levels published every day show how much people love the game, you included!
LB2 looks good, I'll probably buy it used a few months after release
It looks much better than a 'Wait a few months and buy it used' game.
I for one am going to make a level series that's going to be based around a popular band whose members turn out to be evil Sackbots working for the vacuum thingy from the main story. Their music hypnotizes innocent Sackboys and sucks out their creativity. I'm going to fill it with music references. It's gonna be called: Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sack Paintinators Part One: The Sack Paintinators Sell Out Your friend drags you to the Sack Paintinators concert, where he suddenly wants to go backstage to meet the band, so you'll have to use the new grappling hook, jumping skills and surf on the crowd to get there. However the security does not like this and locks you into a room. Your friend, who's much smaller than you, slips through a vent and goes to listen for the rest of the gig. Part Two: I'd Do Anything for Help (But I Won't Do That) In the locked room, you wait for your friend, when suddenly a guitar amp is thrown through the room wall for some reason so you can escape. You'll have to outmaneuver the security outside and will eventually be forced back into the backstage area, but while you hide in a closet there, you overhear the band members talking with that vacuum guy through a hologram or whatever. You then head outside and see that shit has been run into the ground. Part Three: Sackboys and Children First You run around dodging burning debris for a bit, then you find your uncreative, zombified friend and have to get him inside to find a way to reverse his transformation. This level will center on him marching mindlessly forward while you dismantle possible obstacles. You'll eventually get him into a safe room where you leave him and head for the band to get some answers. Part Four (Boss): A Hard Day's Fight You head onstage and kick each band member's ass in their respective battles, get some answers, save your pal, run out, blast your way through an uncreativity zombie crowd, escape, and win.
Going to buy a PS3 soon, only for that game.
Going to buy a PS3 soon, only for that game.
I did this. Feels good man.
Hardly a Megathread.
played LBP2 at comic-con. Gotta say its really cool. The one major thing I noticed which im not sure is a good or bad thing yet, but its nearly identical to the first game in the way that you play the levels. But you do get this nifty grappling hook. and nothing is more satisfying than grappling onto your friend as they are jumping, and pulling them down 2 stories :D
Also make the sackboys be able to walk in the top-down perspective à la GTA2 and add a camera object that is your point of view and can be moved with triggers, so you could change top-down to third person, use the paintinator model for the creatinator (optionally, if you have it), make the sacks able to jump the height of one layer in this mode, maybe give players an ability to make more playable or unplayable layers, and be able to change the look and colour of the paintinator and other powerups with stickers and decorations, so the level creator can make different weapons and tweak how they work. Using powerups in top-down mode would be cool too. And be able to add emitters and whatever crap onto any part of the sackbot. Seriously, put this in, and there's literally nothing we can't make.
Do want this game but it's not on 360 :saddowns:
Anyone wanna build war machines and fight it out in the level editor with me? PSN Blanketsmuggler
I would, but I suck at level editing.
I would, but I suck at level editing.
You don't need to build a level, just a machine that shoots crap or whatever.
I've honestly never had the patience to build a whole level, mainly because I can never get the machines to work properly, they'd always freak out, or start at the wrong part. Placing everything perfectly so that it ran properly drove me nuts, I'm hoping for a more interactive tutorial this time around for level making if anything.

The thing wrong with LBP1 one, is thaif you can't create a fucking sistine chapel, You're never going to get plays. Another thing thats stops you from getting plays is the fact that "popular" creators (A.K.A Wankers) republish there level all fucking day, just becasue it stays on the front page. And the thing is, Popular creators are massive arseholes, I mean, I was invited into one with Steve_big_guns and some other front pager, I asked them "Why do you not let your levels die for a few days just to see if any Jems are finaly let up to the front page" the other guys said "Why the fuck would we let noobs like you on the front page, we own littlebigplanet" Steve just said "Yeah"
Ooo a new one :3: Damn I want a working PS3 and LBP and LBP2
One of the main reasons I got a PS3
i'm on right now, add me if anyone wants to play with me.
I should really buy this game.
I want it on PC
I want this soo bad but i have an 360 :(
I got a PS3 a month or so ago, and bought LBP GOTY edition. I just can't bring myself to make any levels. I don't know if it's my lack or creativity, or I just haven't managed to understand the level editor. :P

I know its like that, but I mean, all the materials, all the tools, and a whole bunch of stuff people make is just immaculate. I mean, I dunno. Anyone want to spend a bit teaching me about stuff? I understand the video tutorials and stuff, but it's hard to actually APPLY it.
