AI war: Fleet command AI war is a unique, large-scale RTS involving constructing huge fleets of ships to fight evil and highly intelligent AI that have destroyed most of the Human race. It includes elements of tower defense and TBS, seeing you defending wormholes from constant raids and grabbing systems with powerful advantages, such as Advanced Research Stations that grant you access to special ships. This feature is much increased in the expansion 'The Zenith Remnant', which includes many capturables like the Golem ships and powerful Zenith technologies. It can be played in single-player or Co-op in randomly generated galaxies, ranging in size from 20-120 planets. Co-op is the only multiplayer option, it allows up to 8 players to work together against the AIs. Games are centred around destroying orbital command stations around planets and constructing your own to capture the area over that planet, defending the wormholes around the planet from AI waves and eventually reaching one of the two AI's homeplanets and destroying the command centre to defeat that AI. There are always 2 AI, both working collaboratively. What makes it unique?

One of the defining features of AI war is it's amazing AI. The difficulty and types of AI can be changed, but the AI will almost always manage to surprise you. It can fight on as many fronts as you can and responds tactfully to situations you create.
Another AI feature is 'AI progress', which determines how many reinforcements the AI gets and how aggressive it is overall. Things such as destroying orbital command stations, capturing powerful superweapons and various other things will raise the progress, as well as a gradual over time rise which stops players from capturing every sector and forces them to only take sectors of strategical, economical or technological importance. The higher the progress, the stronger the waves the AI sends, which will become more than you can handle if you do not balance the progress.
The variety of ships is an awesome feature; there are your initial ships which can be upgraded to higher tiers by spending knowledge from research stations you have built to become more powerful, unique ship types which can be gained by capturing Advanced Factories from the AI and then starships, which are basically capital ships ranging from general purpose combat ships, to speedy raid starships. There is a cap on how many ships can be built of each type in each tier, preventing building up fleets of hundreds of thousands and steamrolling the AI with invincible numbers, but still allowing 1000s of ships.
Huge fleets are commonplace, though it depends on your definition of huge. Early fleets are generally in the 100s, sometimes a couple 1000 big, while late game fleets may be 5000+ big.
Condensed features

Space-based RTS, single player or up to 8 player co-op.
Powerful emergent AI that retreats, probes defenses, and surprises even veterans with intelligent tactics.
30,000+ ships at a time on 10-120 simultaneous planetary battlefields.
Different Every Time: 16 billion procedural maps, each with specific units. - A focus on deep strategy with nearly no micromanagement.
Big fleets, little micromanagement.
Player must think strategically
Variety of ships
The Zenith Remnant The Zenith Remnant is the first expansion pack, including a new mini-faction, an ancient race of aliens called the Zenith. It adds many new superweapons of a sort that can be traded with their traders and things such as Golems which can be captured from the AI, repaired and used as huge dreadnoughts, without overpowering the player. Features

122 new ships, including:
14 new ship classes with a variety of abilities.
7 massive capturable "Golem" ships.
Dozens of other new capturables, including "experimental" ships.
14 new AI Types.
4 Zenith alien minor factions (NPCs).
Over 40 minutes of new in-game music tracks.
Several new map styles.
Several new AI behaviors and many related special AI weapons.
The Children of Neinzul The CoN is a micro expansion being released for around £2, or $4, all proceeds will be going to the charity 'ChildsPlay'. It will add a new race called the 'Neinzul' which I think you will actually be able to fight. Feature list

36 new ships, including:
5 new ship classes with a variety of abilities.
Enclave Starships and Regeneration Chambers for direct unlock.
6 new AI special weapons.
6 new AI Types.
3 Neinzul alien minor factions (NPCs).
Devastating new Hybrid Hives AI plot.
3 new in-game music tracks.
Two new map styles: X and Concentric Circles. Every purchase helps, Thanks! For info on the financial stuff
I always wanted to play this game, my patience ran out after loads of tries. This game is very complex and quite difficult to learn. Even though I enjoy 4X and such games.
Is there a demo or something, you can't exactly expect people to buy your game without trying it out first.
There is a demo, check on Steam.
Demo Here I don't really see how this is complex. Once you play through the tutorials and perhaps the tutorial campaign, it's not too hard to play.
Ah I had never seen a demo before. I always wanted to try this out. And since the devs are going through some hard times my indie lover inside me just screams, "Buy it anyway!" I probably will, but I'll get the demo first.
First awesome looking OP, this took me half a damn hour. I think Arcen should have focused on their RTS fanbase rather than trying to revoloutionise casual puzzles or w/e with Tidalis.
-snip, nevermind-
Everyone should buy this game now because it's awesome and so is the developer. Anyways, anyone wanna try a co-op game some time? I kinda suck at the game but I do know how to play it, so that's a start. :v:
Aw shit what. I bought this game on it's Steam release day, and preordered it's xpak, I even helped design a unit or 2 for the xpak. It had to happen when I'm out of money didn't it.
