If you had Team Fortress 2 before the first weapon update, you will know what I mean when I say
"Do you miss the old TF2?"
I preferred it before the new weapon updates; No imbalances, No overpowered class, no constant spam for trades.
If there are other things you miss in Team Fortress 2, tell me.
Yeah kinda, I really hope valve add a barebones gamemode where its just the original stuff, it can be simple fun.
Sort of, but it developed and changed, its not that game anymore, it feels like a completely new game.
Not really, if the game was still the same it was on release I would have stopped playing years ago.
The plain TF2 can still be seen on the console version of Orange Box
I know some people would miss the old TF2, but I like all the updates because they keep the game fresh.
Valve did two good things.
They made TF2, a fun game.
and they showed us that updates alone can support a game.
It feels like wow and runescape. I don't like this hole buying and trading idea, all you see now is people camp in spawn spamming over chat. who wants to trade my hats etc. I go onto TF2 to mow down my enemies, not trading hats with them.
I kinda miss the only days of Playing TF2 on the Updateless Xbox with a few friends of mine, Just kicking ass in 4 vs 4 matches because the hosts connection wasnt that good, But those 4 vs 4 games where often pretty darn close. Now on the PC verson of TF2. ive never gotten into it too much. :/
And i sure as hell miss "Ownedbyamedic.com". OBAM changed into something like Gamekrib but ive never gotten into that site. I should vist some time.
Nope. Everything is getting better and better and more and more balanced, but that's just my opinion i guess.
I liked it Pre- Spy/Sniper update. That was good times.
Do I miss the days when we had unbalanced classes, the same weapon in 4 of the classes and only 4 maps?
No, not really.
It was pretty good back in 2007
The updates are nice but this hat stuff is ridiculous.
Hats ruined absolutely everything.
If you don't mind me asking, which class(es) is/are overpowered then?
And no, I don't miss it.
I don't understand how hats ruined anything, people are fucking stupid.
Indeed, TF2 is now a shop or something like that... 17.99€ For a hat... seriously...
Also: Everyone spamming trade which is really sucks. I miss the good old Team Fortress 2... I still remember the snipers yelling at spies for backstabbing them XD
I have mixed feelings; the trading and new weapons are great, but I hate it when the chat gets drowned with trade requests (WHO WANTS CRATE SERIES 1 @@@@@@@@@@@@) and there are people staying in the spawn room so they can conduct business without getting interrupted by a crocket.
It'd be a lot nicer if they can set up some kind of market place thing for people to do their trading.
The game has changed from the most accessible and simple "jump in and play" game to this uselessly over complicated title.
I liked the class updates because they kept the game fresh but all this hat and crafting and selling bullshit is so pointless.
I just want to go and play a simple shooter that is fast-paced and non too serious, unlike all the other crappy generic multiplayer shooters that are around now, but instead I'm faced with thousands of menus that I would expect only to see in World of Warcraft.
Actually, i do.
That vanilla time when there were NO unlocks whatsoever was fun as hell. I mean, seriously, i loved it. No class was overpowered and the fact that every class had really bad weaknesses and very strong points made teamwork even more favourable.
Like, would you rather be a really offensive force that completely dominates the 2fort bridge, but then one spy breaks in and backstabs all 24 Heavies.
Well, i liked it until the Ingame shop. Now they destroyed the balance of TF2.
Actually, Valve could release a cvar that activates unlocks. This way people could experience that awesome vanilla feeling again. Well, excluding medals, actions and unlocks that are pretty much identical to vanilla weapons like the Frying Pan. Trading would also be locked so people don't go around shouting "HAY GUISE ILL TRAED HATS" Instead, it'd be just like old times. I only wish....

I had that same idea too.
To be honest, when the steam servers go off, and I'm stuck with vanilla weapons, I'm (more) horrible.
To be completely honest without the constant updates, new weapons/hats, I probably wouldn't still be playing the game.
No. I've been playing it quite a lot and kind of had enough of it. The updates always bring me back. Not long enough to get good or anything or, god beware, get a hat. But a few hours. And that's why I like the new TF2
"I might play Team Fortress 2 today.
Oh wait, it's updating, again."
