Ok, before I start I need to point out that I do not, and have never, had an account on WoW. That's why I was really confused to find an email saying that my account was being hacked. you know, the one I never had? the email seems legit enough- and then this- If this is something common then tell me, because even if this is some horrendous mess up in the Blizzard department I still want to know why they have my email. I'm also worried that this has something to do with money.
It's spam.
It's spam.
And fake blizzard emails supposed to scam idiots of their accounts.
Websites like to email mostly people with WoW accounts and say they have been hacked, just so they can hack them in turn for all of their stuff.
But I don't have one to lose!
You've got nothing to worry about then, just mark as spam and move along.
Those are definetly scam messages, i get about 3 per day of those. I once got scam message that had actually real blizzard website address in the link that was suposed to be that scam site address, tho it was US address and i have EU account. But yea i could give away my info freely on scam website as i got authenticator and i doubt they'll guess that 8 number code that changes every minute.
Yeah I get them all the time too. Annoying as fuck.
Blizzard employees will NEVER ask for your password
One thing i do to make sure i dont get fake emails easily is that i have a seprate account thats ive only given to three company's, Blizzard, Valve and Erepublik. There the ones that i spend money on.
I don't know if it's a fake email but some time ago my account along with ~100 others got banned because we all supposedly got scammed, at least I got scammed. Anyway, when account gets logged in from an IP very far away from you, they lock the account for security purposes I guess, they also disable the credit card payment method and will cancel subscription. Cleaned my PC out of viruses and such, continued playing, game-time ran out and I was unable to add a credit card subscription so I called Blizzard, they asked questions related to my account and then everything was fine [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] The only troubling thing is that they didn't lock up my account fast enough, those god damned motherfucking chinese sold all my Ally chars gear and I had to go through GM's to get my shit back.
