I came across some of these dongles to mod your PS3 on dealextreme for pretty cheap, but the question is do they work? Some of the comments say that they don't work and some say they do. here's some of the dongles in question http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.45936 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.44807 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.48235 Cheapest one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.44846 So, can anyone who bought one of these tell me of one works? I'm a little bit weary about blowing money on something that doesn't work. You can see all the dongles on dealextreme here http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.dongle
Watch out! If you buy one you might get a dragon dildo.
You need to have the right firmware on your PS2? When was the last time you took your PS3 online? And you can just download the software and put it on your own USB drive.
I'm going to have to go to the popular saying: "If it's too good to be true. Then its too good to be true.". But then again it is deal extreme. I say try your luck. Maybe 80% chance it might work.
You need to have the right firmware on your PS2? When was the last time you took your PS3 online? I had to format the harddrive a few weeks ago and haven't been online since, I mainly play singleplayer games anyway. Were can I download the software?
I personally wouldn't risk it. Saves you money if it turns out it doesn't work.
I wouldn't risk it, they might go all Microsoft on the people who have them and ban them from PSN or something.
You can only use to it mod 3.40/3.42 I think and lower. If you updated too bad, Sony fixed it in later versions.
wouldn't really bother me much to format since I just did a few weeks ago
Only works on 3.41 (and some below) so you're out of luck. Whoever said you can put the software on an usb drive is an idiot. You can't. You can buy programmable usb jigs but you're out of luck anyway. Edit: The pre-made dongles most likely only work on 3.41! For different firmwares, you will need a different payload which is only possible when you use your own jig device And yes they work. I would be careful though, it's not known what Sony's strategy (except lawsuits against resellers) is.
