So, I bought a Microsoft Wireless Gaming Receiver to play some PC games using the 360 controller... I don't get how people play FPS games using a damn joystick.
It's fun for racing games like Blur, Grid, and Split Second though.
Anyway, are there any games that are fun with the 360 controller?
The thing I like most about a controller/joystick is that you can move at a variety of speeds. You can walk very slowly, normally, or at any speed in-between. You cannot do that with WASD.
I'd imagine games like Mafia II would be better with a gamepad.

Not at all.

I used my keyboard for the shooting parts and switched to my wireless 360 controller when I had to drive. :)
Generally GFW ports of Xbox games are brilliant, since they recognize the 360 controller right away, and usually have controls designed for it.
Plain Sight
Mafia 2 is great with a 360 controller.
Resident Evil 5. Actually , most capcom games on the PC , such as the Devil May Cry series

Same, I loved the fact that it would actually change the on-screen hints when you switched around
RTS's can be fun but only simple ones. I always play multiwinia with an xbox controller.
Batman.
I played GTA IV with a 360 controller. Aiming is still pretty easy, but ofcourse since it's a controller, aimings going to be a little harder so it adds to the challenge.
I played through borderlands to level 30 with a 360 controller aswell, actually suits it, however aiming is pretty horrid just like with the mouse; I used shotguns on my playthrough most of the time anyway.
GTAIV is one of the games I like playing with my 360 controller.
Colin McRae Dirt 1/2
Also like half a year ago I was thinking how are you even supposed to play FPS games with controller but somehow it's not hard :buddy:

Batman: Arkham Asylum

A joystick:

Strictly it's called a gamepad but nobody in the whole world cares.
With Gamepads (specifically xbox 360)
Good:
-Racing.
-Top down shooters.
-Platformers.
-Adventures.
Bad:
-FPS.
-Strategy.
Could go either way:
-Third person shooter.
-Puzzlers.
-Simulators.
-Action.
But that's just from personal experience.
GTA IV was far better with a controller
Tomb Raider. I went on a tomb raider nostalgia spree last weekend with the 360 controller and it was great.
GTA IV most definitely.
Steering helicopters and riding motorbikes are just a lot more satisfying and easier with a gamepad.

In my opinion every TPS plays better with a gamepad.
Almost anything that isn't a strategy game, RPG, or FPS.
Dead Rising 2 should be funny with an Xbox 360 Controller
I prefer the game pad for PC gaming. It's just what I'm comfortable with and that's what I grew up with. I wish I could figure out to use my Xbox 360 controller on my PC. My brother got it to work the other day, but I don't know how to do it.
Call me a heretic or infidel, but I would play and love Team Fortress 2 more if I could play it on the PC with a game pad.
I've always used a 360 controller for Just cause 2.

if it's wired just plug it in
if it's wireless you need to buy a wireless receiver thing
games that support it should just work straight away
games that don't, you might need to use xpadder or something similar

I know most of that. My brother got it to work, but I haven't been able to replicate his results.
IL2 Sturmovik, if you don't have anything against flight simulators with dogfights.

Yeah, games like GTA 4 and Mafia are better with gamepads.

Aiming with a stick, to me is very inefficient.
