If you signed up for GoG.com when they were in beta stage, their giving you a free game. (Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games) I've never heard of this game personally, but it's still a nice effort on their part. Here's the official article on GoG.com. What's the alternative gift?
late september's over
What's the alternative gift?
I'm not sure, when I click the link it tells me that I do not own it and am not eligible.
Yeah, I got this email today. The game is not that great.
It's the effort that counts in my opinion.
It should be ~2 years active. Practically every single GOG member now has a free game.
Yeah, I got this email today. The game is not that great.
you might not think so, but Jagged Alliance is, like, the father of the cornerstone of that which is turn-based tactical games. It's the novelty that counts.
I'm pretty sure you are talking about X-Com. JA just improved the formula.
But X-Com is the mother -- she gave birth to the genre! I take that back. Laser Squad was, but it was created by the same guy. [editline]20th October 2010[/editline] And Rebelstar, etc. List goes on. But you're right -- you got me.
Yep, but X-Com really popularized and set the standard for future games. It's a shame games like these have pretty much been eradicated.
I made a GOG account a while ago to get Beneath a Steel Sky for free, and now I get another free game :v:
I registered a bit too late so I didn't get it. Doesn't really bother because I'm having so much fun with other games games that I paid for. Jagged Alliance 2 looks quite interesting though...
Awesome, never played the original JA but I love JA2.
