Some of you might remember this game from a Steam Announcement about a year ago, some might remember it from an old shiny '95 DOS packaging, like me. In fact, here's a picture I just took of it.

Well, this was LucasArts' last SCUMM engine game, and as quoted in WikiPedia's article about it:
"...It contains a full voice-over soundtrack and a digital orchestral score. For the most part, the game's graphics are hand-drawn and sparsely animated, with a mixture of pre-rendered 3D and hand-drawn animation clips also presented in certain parts of the game...
...It is the most serious LucasArts adventure game, containing no slapstick, and relatively little subtle humor, an element found abundantly in all other LucasArts adventure titles. It is also the only one to fit perfectly into the science fiction genre."
For me, it's one of those games that I should treasure always.
It's pretty awesome, after all, Steven Spielberg wrote it.
Later in 2010 or 2009, I can't remember exactly, Steam in collaboration with LucasArts released a fixed version for the Windows XP and Vista systems, not sure about W7, but I think it can run it. They removed the main menu which glitched the game on newer systems, so you'll pretty much start the game as soon as you start it (If you're using the steam version, which costs $4,99).
Most of it is mouse based gameplay, but of course, there's also ESC or F1 (Not sure which now) to save the game.
It's pretty old, but the storyline is quite interesting. It was heavily criticized for it's seriousness back in the time though.
So if you have nothing else to do with 5 dollars, you could consider buying it on steam. If you have a lot of time but nothing to do, no movies to watch and it's a rainy day... Well. You could watch it's longplay below.

Watched an LP of this game.
I was not surprised when they introduced an evil german scientist.
Brilliant game, finished it a couple of months ago, and only for a fiver, that's money well spent.
An hour into the video, I suddenly realise how incredibly long time it must take for you to complete this game when playing it for the first time.
I would never be able to complete this. Holy shit man.
I have the exact same disc set you posted in the OP. I played it once... don't remember anything. Time to dig it out I guess
The Dig, Full throttle, best point and click game ever.
One of the best games ever. Also one of the last of the 90s-era point 'n clicks =/
The Dig rules. One of the best serious point-and-click adventure games of all time.
I'm really not a fan of point 'n' click games, but this actually looks interesting.
The old LucasArts and Sierra adventures are some of the best games I've ever played.
Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Space Quest, King's Quest, etc
Nostalgiakill! I counter with "I have no mouth and i must scream".
The Dig, Full throttle, best point and click game ever.
Never liked Full Throttle
Grim Fandango though, that was great
Never got to play this one, I probably should, LucasArts made some kickass games back in the day.
Lucasarts point and click adventure games were legendary. The indie games, The Dig, and a handful of other games are what my childhood was composed of.
The graphics are absolute sex too.
i watched the whole longplay in the op, amazing game.
SO MUCH NOSTALGIA!
