Okay for some reason half-life source is in my steam game list. I haven't bought the game... is there a way to see if someone gifted or a list of history things?

Also it says I have to purchase half-life source, but I can play half-life source deathmatch

You probably got Half Life: Source Deathmatch in some deal and you downloaded the Half Life: Source content because it's required.

I got it yesterday, and I didn't buy anything for over 3 months.
maybe somebody give you gift or gabe newell sponsor your game :D
If you had hl:s dm before then maybe someone from the steam mods saw it and gave you hl:s.
You don't have Half Life Source. You have Half-Life Deathmatch: Source. :colbert:
Anyhow, it seems to be a bit of a bug that certain people (including you) have experienced.
