I hate this kind of servers, its just shit that people dont understand that losing is a part of the game and things dont last forever.

I would wish there was some kind of vanilla anarachy server with some kind of anticheat that kicks people using xray and flying, really, its fucking annoying with theese overbogged modded into wannaberunescapes servers filled with kids whining when you dont do as they say. I just hate when people make rules just to make rules, and when people try to get people to do exactly as they imagined them to do.. like "peasants staying in town or ban" or "dont go in water beacuasezzz we roleplay apocalypse wit zombeh sharks lol xD". Pretty fucking annoying.
And the even more annoying is that when i goto mcserverlist and filter out mods on my page, there are modded servers anyway because of the 12 year olds and their FUCKING INCOMPETENCE at everything.

No rules. (only 2 sysadmins to maintain the server)
Vanilla. 0 mods.
PVP and monsters are enabled.
Stealing and griefing is allowed.
LOADS of monsters.
Limited resources on the map. You might find an Oasis if you're lucky.
Admins wont fuck around with /give #item etc.

There are a few servers on the GIP forum you'd like
Personally I can't stand the admins of some other servers like the ones similar to the OP, so I made my own server called The Cube
Everyones pretty chilled and mature, it's a nice community

Minecraft is only really fun with close friends. My server has no rules but it's not a problem because it's whitelisted and no one is a dick. People just leave their valuable shit out in the open and no one cares.

I remember I once went on one and got banned by a admin because a pit shaft mine I had dug some kid or something had dug down through the mine roof and into the deep shaft, falling a considerable distance before he died. He then promptly screamed at the top of his lungs for his big brother to force me to give him stuff to compensate or be banned.

I decided to burn my chests in lava, then with my remaining items I jumped into some lava. I got banned. Good times.

I stay with the cube server now, the cube server is a most excellent one to play in.

The best thing to do IMO is run a small server, just for some close friends who you know won't do anything wrong. I tried hosting my server to an entire community, but there's always someone who messes everything up. If you only let in people you trust, there is no need for silly rules, etc.

At least 90% of the minecraft servers I go on spawn you in some deserted, un-editible towns with elevators and locked doors filled to the brink with shitty economy mods and chat spam telling you about commands you can use that aren't worth learning. Oh and maybe the odd teleporter room that leads you to uneditible deserted areas. Really fun.

I agree, we don't force our players to use iConomy but it's there if you wish to use it. Also, the spawn city is editable and we urge you to build in it (or any other cities- we don't protect areas unless there is a very good reason. We just rely on Logblock and awesome moderators)
I just used to get so annoyed at joining servers only to find the admins had made pretty much everywhere interesting un-editable

I decided not to use iconomy since it's so clunky.
Since you can't trade items for items, we just trade between players.

I don't play public much anymore. The only server I go on anymore is profans. I also host my own private server that me and my friends dick around on and build on. Minecraft is best when:

I don't know what kindof servers the OP plays on but I've never seen a server that forces you to use smiles in every message.

And as for "loosing is part of the game" yadayadayada, different servers are made for different purposes so you should get used to the idea of not every server being 100% PvP.

I only got minecraft 3days ago and I haven't updated with the recent update released. So that's a clue to what version I have as I don't really know myself.

I'm no griefer, I just want to build with some people.
